The Mesoamerican War was coming to a close. The Kintyrians and Copanecs had fought hard, but the Tikalians and Singodians had too many soilders, and the capacity to replace them. The Singodian-Tikalian alliance made 2 last pushes, which effectively cut off support of both Kintyre and Copan from each other. From there, the armies where slowly annhilated. The Kintyrians were the first to fall, thier army surrendering in turn for survival. The Copanecs fought a bitter resistance struggle in the West, but it was already over. Both tribes have met thier match.

Many Sicilian ships were sunk, with many men on them, but not until every last ship that sail from Tarentum laid at the bottom of the ocean. The Tarentians did not expect this in the slightest, there was no resistance for Sicily. Too much of Tarentum was captured before any reistance was organized, the battle was won. "The Italic Wars will not soon be forgotten..."
Unnamed Valencian captain as he sailed over the flames of Rome. 562 BC
The Romans and Calabrians had forged an alliance 10 years before. Thier alliance had a very succesful war against Pescara, almost completely subduing the largest threat to thier alliance on the Italian penuisla. Although, there was the problem Province of Ravenna, which has been counqered years before by Pescara. It was infested with rebels, bandits, pirates, a real scraffy bunch of men, really. The Romans naturally laid claim to this land, but then Tuscany stalwartly proclaims it to be free reign. After a heated diplomatic exchange, the Romans decided Tuscany needed to learn its place. The banners of war were raised once more.
The Roman generals though this to be an easy victory. And really, it should have. But secret negotiations between Valencia and Tuscany had taken place. The Tuscans were desperate, they didn't think thier actions would lead to full scale war. The Valencians had a lot to gain from helping Tuscany, vassalage of the Tuscan state, and Rome's head. The Romans did not know this until it was far too late.
The Romans and Calabrians devised an attack plan, and set out with it. It did very well, Ravenna was subdued without a Tuscan fight. Wierd, for it was the cause of this war. But, no matter, the campaign continues. The Romans sent a large detatchment of troops, along with Calabrian help, They were to take Tuscany itself, then meet up in the North, finishing off the war. They enclosed the captial, neared it. They did not expect an army of 3000 to be awaiting them. Theese 3000 troops proceded to route the 1000 Roman and Calabrians. The Roman detatchment in the North had proceded as plan though, until word came of a defeat in the South. In order to save face, the Romans though of sneaking behind a pass to surpise the Tuscans and Valencians, leading right into Florence, the capital, itself. But, 300[1] of Tuscany and Valencia's best troops were there, blocking the pass. Even though they couldn't get through, the Romans and Calabrians inflicted heavy casaulties. The pass was taken, and Florence was sacked. The large troop of Valencians and Tuscans managed to escape into the North though,
This was not all though. While the Roman and Calabrians were in the North, the Valencian navy sailed into Rome's port, filled with Valencian troops. The garrison of Rome was gravely outnumbered, and the city was taken. The Valencians had no use to hold on to it, the front was much too far North. So, they pillaged it, and burned it. The Valencians then escaped, as there was no navy to pursue them. Over half of Rome was destroyed in the fires that engulfed it. The Romans weeped for thier losses, but will this only make them fight harder?
