Ok Xen although traditionally, the Pope has been the biggest reason italy wasn't invaded, namely because everyone wants in good with God and they cannot do that when God's messenger on earth is being harangued by barbarous idiots

The Papal State should be a bonus to economy and wonder construction (with papal approval)

you can't increase education twice and build fleet. you can grow 2 things per turn not 3.

while its up to erez, i would imagine,t hat since most rleigiosn dont have a pope, it woudl be hard to make a papal state.

remember though; in this NES, it is a start form the beginnign of history; it dose not have to develop liek real life!

(that said, if a scenario is based on reality, I can get rather uppity, somtimes... )

but liek I said, you need ot remember, that this sor tof NES is MAKE a new history- NOT recreate the old one.

metaliturtle. There is no religion that have a pope, NEITHER there is a religion that is spread into many countries so it will make a change only thing close to it is greece with their mythology... but that religion doesn't have a leader

Note: This is not a country, just a political movement, we do not have soldiers, but may be a pain in the butt for overambitious rulers. Lets see how people dealing with us compare to the Romans dealing with Christians back in the day.
