Alright then - a basic write up as it was another quiet turnset.
We are (just) losing cash @ 50% research and as always we are desperate for happiness. Not much can be done about either for now. The priorities I see are to keep our economy moving the right direction. That means that I am not going to be founding another city in these turns. As it turns out, a barb city has sprung up on the favoured city site (or just beside it), so founding there is out for now in any case.
Also to penny pinch futher, I'm wasn't keen to add to the military either. I let queued builds finish, but concentrated on continuing with Theatres and happiness buildings. Also as most of the other civ's have gunpowder, they won't be a long way off rifles. I wasn't interested in stocking up on tech inferior troops and paying maintenance on them considering (for now at least) we can't invade anywhere and we can't be invaded either.
I noticed that we have barb macemen about now. Its getting dangerous out in the fog.
As it turned out I razed two barb cities on my watch, Aryan and Bantu. Lost a couple of troops, but with my feelings above, I didn't much mind. For the record Bantu gave pocket change - Aryan was worth over 100 gold.
This made me think a bit. Our best source of quick cash might be barb city razing in the short term. Perhaps we should allow a few a spring up and grow a size or two and then raze.
We don't have any good trades available and we are a way behind the tech leaders. The only upside being Russia is trailing us! Optics came in and I went Printing Press. We need all the commerce boost we can get. I started reconfiguring Old Sahari's cottages to farms. Its not a science centre, much better to max out its pop and hammer production. Do not whip here if at all possible, it will grow back too slowly.
Whipped at P-Fury and Beshbalik in my turns. Beshbalik I've MM to not grow as it is at happy limit.
Wasn't a lot I could do with the workers, mostly some roading.
