I've downloaded the Fall of Beleriand scenario from www.geocities.com/jolciv and found a strange bug there:confused: . My civilization has 3 invisible cities. Only their names are visible on the map, but I could access them from city status menu. They have population of 0 and cannot be conquered or destroyed by enemy units. More funny, they're in the same locations as my normal cities, but can produce different units. If someone knows how to solve this problem (editing scn file or something) or can send correct FW version of this scenario to loocus@poczta.fm I would be very grateful.

i dunno if this is the same thing, but in the LOTR scen by Harlan Thompson, he has size zero cities to keep the civs from restarting. but it sounds like your thing is different, so i dont know how much that'll help

I don't think it's intentional, because when enemy conquers my "real" cities, the "unreal" cities under them are still mine, and when I attack these "real" cities my units just enter them as they were mine, although they're owned by enemy. Isn't there some way to delete cities in scenario file?

1. Load the scenario as a saved game. You have to go up to the file name box and change the entry from *.sav to *.scn and hit enter. The scenario file should then be displayed.
2. Switch to cheat mode.
3. Locate the city you want to destroy and move the cursor over it.
4. Destroy all the units in the city. (Ctrl-shift-d)
5. Destroy the city (shift-d)
6. Then save the file as a scenario. I would save the scenario under a new name.

shift-d seems to not work in my civ. Anyway I solved the problem by using CivCity editor, and giving these citie to Trigger Civilization. I reduced their food/shields production to 0. They still exist under my own cities, but cause no more problem ( I hope ).

Anyway, download this scenario, especially if you like Tolkien books. It 's one of the best I've seen. And check if you have the same problem, or is it only something with my Civ.

I noticed the same thing in the lebensraum scenario. My Germany planes and ships kept on entering London which was British.

I am mystified why shift d does not delete a city. I've done it many times. The only thing I can add is that the 'd' has to be lower case. Many of the commands in the civ 2 menus are case sensitive.

I tried shift-d again and it worked. I mean it didn't help me, but I could delete cities thatt way. Strange, I never heard about such way of deleting cities before. I thought they must be set to size 1 and destroyed.

Still, anybody heard about this scenario before?

the scenario doesn't work for Fantastic Worlds and I don't have the same problem at all. weird

from the readme:
"REQUIREMENTS

Multiplayer Gold is needed to run this Scenario."

otherwise I just love the scenario and has edited the events.txt a little to make it suite Silmarillion. :D

edit: spelling

Use MGE converter. It should be downloadable somewhere from this site. It changes MGE scenarios so that they work (almost:)) on FW

well obviously somethin is wron with your version ;)
