I usually do this manually within IrfanView by going to Info, removing the DPI number, and then saving again. But this gets annoying on multiple images. I was trying to google how to do this. Firstly I searched for that but I stupidly forgot to turn on safesearch. Oops. So I tried again this time with the proper settings. I found a program to set the DPI for a bunch of files:

Which is not what I want. Also it mentions PNGOUT strips the info but I'd rather not use that (I use it for my web-quality images and not the archival version, as on occasion it'll drop the color depth of the archival versions).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried Irfanview's batch processing? Failing that, you could write a scheme script for GIMP.

well I was looking at the batch processing and I could not find an option for that but I will look again.

EDIT: I see in the advanced options "Set new DPI value." Thanks!
