For some reason civ 4 won't start. And I think I might know why.
Civ 4 includes 2 dics for installing. And so does Sim City 4. The Sims 2 has 4 discs (wow...). So there's something in common with them: they all were installed with multiple discs. Another thing: They all don't work! I've tried reinstalling them several times, only to see a loading screen, which loads for nothing. Then after two minutes, the computer freezes - for all of them. I've checked the system requirements many times, making sure that it would work. the computer meets the requirements, but the games will never load. Civ 4 only gets to the loading screen with the word "loading" in different languages. But back to the multiple discs: I think there's something wrong with the CD drive. The drive is... i think "Lite-On 52x/.../... Combo". I think there's something wrong with it that messes up the multi-disc installation process. if anyone can solve this I'd really appreciate it.:goodjob:

Civ 4 has two discs? I don't think I had two discs...

I swear mine didn't.

^^ That's me then. Mine was a DVD

Clean your CDROM drive, if it doesn't work, change a new one.

In any case, don't ever buy a combo drive.

Hope it'll helps.

^^ I do have the DVD.

Mine only had 1 disc and i don't think it was a dvd one because it worked in my grandmothers CD drive.
I got a version of C&C Generals that had 6 disks(2 for Generals, 2 for Zero Hour and 2 bonus content)
