subscribing for user cp only (no mail) - possible?

I know I know, that I have to ask such a question is rather embarrasing:

Is it possible to sing up for a thread (i.e. 'subscribe', but NOT receive emails about it? I want the threads to show in the user cp, but I do NOT want to get emails (they just clog up my mail server)

subscribed threads=E-mails. You can not have one with out the other.

I know, acutally This was more of an indirect way to plead TF to change that

Yeah, I wish there was a way to subscribe to them in the user CP, but not receive e-mails to it.

This will be possible in vB 3.0.

Last time I heard vB 3.0 should be out around Christmas...

You could create a folder in your favorites, and copy links to the threads on the last post link to the threads there.

I have that for threads I may want to post to - like the FAQ or Quick Reply or Worst Luck. But whta I really want is that freshly replied to threads show in the user cp (i.e. if the thread is dormant I do not see it, if someone replies I DO see it) - just as it is but without the mail.....

That's what I want too! Although, I don't think it's gonna happen. [returns to e-mail box to delete volumes of Civ mail]

Run a search for your own posts and bookmark the search. As long as the search function isn't disabled this should do the trick.

That is, as long as you don't spam errr I mean post too much

Shabba, good idea, but search is down a alot AND I may want updates to threads I didn't psot to.

I tried this about a year ago. It works rather good for a time, but search's time out. So you've got to run another search for your own posts again after a short time.
