Suggest a good RPG?

I am currently playing Titan's Quest, but have been convinced to check out Baldur's Gate and Masquerade: Bloodlines as well once I'm done with that.

Planescape seems a classic that must be checked out as well.

Baldur's gate can commonly be found in a set with 1 + 2 + the expansions.

VTM: bloodlines and Ps:T are a bit more rare.

ive only ever seen baldurs gate once, in half priced books. ive never seen any of the other games.

I found the gold edition of Baldur's Gate 2 a few years ago at a store that sells liquidated assets from companies excess stock or ones that have closed down.

BG 1+2 is available on a combo DVD now. Masquerade can be bought on Steam.

PS:T is, AFAIK, only available through used purchases.

i downloaded baldurs gate 2 + expansion because everyone is always talking about how awesome it is, the rule set is atrocious. 2nd edition is BS, nwn2 was much funner for me, altough i will admit that baldurs gate is much more deeper , as opposed to nwn2 which i felt was kind of limited in scope.

The problem with Baldurs gate for me was that most of the characters are irritating psychopaths.
I eventually had to turn the sound off to finish the game.

I much prefer Icewindale. Better game play and no irritating characters.

Hmm, well for me since I generaly play a good character who has a strong psychopathic urge it worked out fine.

Well it's an old RPG but still great. Lufia for super nintendo, or Chrono Trigger. If you played those then I would suggest Suikoden for ps1 or ps2 I believe. Classic RPG's imo.

These are console RPGs, I like some of them, but the genre is almost entirely different from most games that have been dicussed in this thread. I was a huge fan of Chrono Trigger, it was quite epic.

There were a few examples of console-type RPGs released on the computer. I remember one called Anachronox, which was flawed but had an interesting storyline. Man this just dusted a few brain cells of mine, I remember a few of these console-type RPGs on the computer but I can't name them. Oh jee. I want to find these again.

EDIT: I remember about Anachronox, the battles really didn't play very well, but as I said, the story was quite awesome. It was supposed to have a sequel but it was never released. Too bad. One thing I remember clearly is that, a bit like Chrono Trigger, Anachronox had some of the best music in a video game.

EDIT2: Holy crap, flashback from over 10 years ago. I just remembered "Septerra Core". It was also one of these somewhat rare console-RPGs-on-PC type games. Anyone remember that?
