Suggestions and Requests

It seems odd that slaves only come from Africa and the New World. I suggest slaves generated 1/turn while a city is being razed, and a slave from pillaging a Town. Slaves can always be settled(with civics) and produce a changed +1 prod, +1 gold, +1 unhappy.
I too want to play Egypt, seize slaves from Jerusalem, and force them build my Pyramids by settling them in Memphis.

Then who built the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid? Checkmate scientists.

Bass Pro Shop Pyramid wonder when? +1:commerce: and +1:) for every fish resource.
that is correct.png

Would make more sense to me as an additional option on city capture. It reduces city down to size one and you risk generating partisans

That's because ancient Egyptians came from America, ez.

Some suggestions for the ethiopian gameplay:
Ethiopia should begin with Deification instead of Clergy. Pre christian era aksumite kings were considered sons of their god of war, Mahrem.
Judaism should spread more frequently in Ethiopia and south Arabia, since have relates of judaic communities and even of kingdoms in these regions during Antiquity Era

Would there be any interest/possibility in adding unique events for individual Civilizations? I think they might be a good way to add immersion and replayability
More unique events could absolutely help immersion/replayability, but I'm partial to more civic, religion, and/or region (if possible) based events. I think civ-specific events might wind up too railroady.

If we're talking about events, I think another interesting category could be wonder events.

It being the 2025 Nobel Prize season right now, I think the Nobel Prize wonder could have a plethora of random events associated with it. Here are a couple ideas:
  • A Nobel Prize is to be awarded to a figure controversial in their home country; you get a small GP boost if you go along with it but a hit to relations or no benefit and no relation change if you, as a civ, reject that result (historical example: Boris Pasternak, Carl von Ossietzky)
  • The Nobel Peace Prize is to be awarded to a political figure in another country; by awarding the prize to this person, you have a chance of influencing this country's actions and policies, potentially changing a civic to match one of yours (hist. ex.: Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama (failed))
  • A Nobel Prize was awarded to a scientist whose research has since been discredited; this scientist's home country (randomly chosen) can take a small hit to research or GP generation but this will incur a relation hit against you or you can take the hit to research/GP generation and they'll like you (hist. ex.: Johannes Fibiger, Antonio Egas Moniz)
  • The Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to someone completely unexpected and relatively unknown, leading to their works now being thought of in a whole new light; a random civilization gets a free artist settled in their capital and a relations boost with you (hist. ex.: Abdulrazak Gurnah)
Just a few ideas. Ideally you wouldn't be swamped with events but it would be fun to have a few per game if you build the wonder. I'm sure other people could come up with events related to other wonders.

Up to the Renaissance, city ruins should provide +1 production on their tile and/or provide similar production to chopped forests when cleared, including (or at least) when settling on top.

Recycling building material from destroyed buildings/cities, or incorporating remains of ancient buildings as part of new construction, was extremely widespread.

Gameplay-wise, it would add an interesting dimension to strategic considerations when settling, and wouldn't/shouldn't break anything.

Given that the isle of Crete has been continuously inhabited for a very long time, with the Minoan civilization existing between 3100 BCE to 1100 BCE, and that the Byzantines (or any other AI) never seem to settle this island, I propose that that the Byzantines start with with a city on Crete's eastern tile in the 600 AD scenario.

Hello!
I have some suggestions, is state party OP? Look at this 2 picture, i could save +5000 gold/turn because i adopt state party. Democracy cant beat that.
1) Could u make upkeep some less for city in historical regions? Some huge civ always have problem with that. (How could Arabia get all medieval techs with this huge expansion area?)
2) Need some fix 2 unique historical goal: Railroad connection South and North Africa, but no any word about control each tile railroad. Vassal land - no win.

Some last updates change unique historical goal for Holy Rome: now when u got 8 Europe friends each time - It's fixed forever. This is simple now, u could easy get this point before Reformation
P.S. Why i cant make lumber mill on forest hill tiles?

I'm not sure what you mean. Is it that it is sufficient to complete the goal once at any time? Which update changed this?

It was too obviously superior to mines.

I've been thinking that State Party could have some penalty for colonies, reflecting how most civs that could fit historically were lagging behind in colonial conquest.

Yes, it is enough to perform it once. Before change you should have 8 friends in 1850 AD. Looks like update 23.08 - 26.08

Yes. Will be good if State Party doesnt work for oversea colonies. Maybe make condition for no maintence in State Party - connection railroad with capital?
