Suggestions and Requests

Can we please rename Infrastructure to Automobile? Invention of horseless transportation was the primary technology, and the resulting need for infrastructure is secondary.

Well, Automobile is more fundamental, like Flight.

I think it’d be cool if it could be changed so that Byzantium no longer gets Arabia and the Levant back when Arabia collapses. That way we wouldn’t see the Byzantines sometimes get back their Egyptian lands in the 900-1100’s where it was hardly associated with Byzantium by that point.

The best way could be respawn of Egypt at this moment

Some Suggestions:
  • add Cyrenaica/Benghazi to Egyptian Resurrection area.
  • make 68,46 an Islands Tile (Djerba and Kerkennas)
  • change Ilha de San Miguel (Ponta Delgada), Madeira, and Cape Verde to Hills. Add at least one more Islands feature near each.
  • Sea resource for Ligurian Sea
  • consider rearranging Carpathians to make the route from Krakow to Budapest less direct (personally I'm in favor of making the range a solid wall and stick the Iron in Transylvania)
  • For 600AD replace Singapore w/ Malacca (1NW). For 1700AD keep Singapore.
  • 103,36: currently Coast. I'd like to propose making it a Lagoon encased by rivers (ala Venice and Amsterdam) to represent the site of Goa.
  • Great Cothon in 600AD Carthage (for a lil flavor if nothing else)

Last I'd like to submit the Nile Delta (78-79,45) for review and discussion. At the *very least* it doesn't seem fitting that these tiles should remain Marshes for the entire timeline, nay? Same for East Anglia (59,65) as well (and probably a few other tiles that haven't caught my eye yet). For clarity, what I'm *not* requesting is a change to the base map. Perhaps a scripted solution similar to those already in place elsewhere?

I know this idea is super micro but I was thinking that maybe Himeji Castle and samurais could be given some activity when they're building up culture and not invading overseas.

The game before that point looks too peaceful so we could have rebels represented by either Barbarians or Independents spawning on their territory to attack them, representing the Genpei War (1180s), the Ashikaga coup (1330s) and mostly the Sengoku period (1467 - 1615). These rebels being smaller in number and power so they're not supposed to take over the Japanese player's cities while at the same time wrecking havoc on their countryside forcing their units into action.

An alternative that could represent these civil wars is that either Himeji Castle, Japan's UP, the Samurais or any other Japanese Wonder give the effect of fully fortified units acquiring 1XP every 20 turns.

What about something like, fortified units give +2 culture per turn to a city? It would synergize with the culture goal of Japan and reflect the idea that samurai turned towards cultural pursuits to legitimize their standing in society.

Not sure if I'm missing a joke, but isn't this basically literally part of the current Himeji Castle effect already? With Himeji's current effect also taking into account the level of the fortified unit while only applying to fully fortified units?

Whoops, I wasn't looking at the game at all and haven't played Japan in awhile. Sorry.

It's a small thing, but I think Spain's UHV1 should be renamed to something like "be the first european civ to found a city in the Americas", just to be more specific.

Despite the recent tech cost adjustments, Canada still struggles to build the Chateau de Frontenac, especially in slower speeds. Perhaps we can have them start with Electricity (a prerequisite for Refining, which unlocks the wonder) to make it more accessible for the civ that historically built it?

Or make it "first Old World civ" to cover for cases where non-Europeans could found a city in the Americas (which frequently happened in the original RFC, but is rarer in recent editions of DoC).

Maybe I’m going a little far, but how about colonialism giving +1 trade routes in colonies. Currently both it and colonies are undertuned and struggle to be profitable, so making colonialism give colony trade routes could help make them a worthy investment.

I have an idea for 2 new wonders, both of them technological feats of the last years, and in my opinion could be well integrated to endgame.

The first is Starship, The spacecraft that Space X is developing that is meant to carry 100 people to mars. it benefit it could provide would perhaps be shorter arrival time, or resources from mars to symbolize a colony? could be some of those rare engame resources, or even something entirely new, like a mineral that gives bonuses to industry.

My second idea is Iron Beam, the worlds first laser weapon- missile interceptor, that is now being develped and integrated into the Israeli army and in the future to the American army. it would be so cool to build in game, reminds me of star wars. its bonus could be an improvment from the existing Iron dome 50% to 75-80% or something like that, plus an additional bonus, like protection over allies and vassals too.

I am not interested in promoting Musk or the IDF here.
