Sulla's Civilization IV Walkthrough

Thanks You!!! This walkthrough has been the best one I have read so far, very informative!!!:goodjob:

I realy do not want to go thru 33 pages of posts, so if some one can please answer me a quick question...Other than the 7 ( I think it was 7) original parts to the walkthrough, did Sulla add any more.

thanks

Is the walkthough broken? None of the screenshots show up!

Yeah, I had the same problem. It was working fine a few weeks ago and I go back and the screenshots won't load.

Indeed, the screenshots of the walkthrough don't show up. (again?)

I can see the screenshots of the other articles/games he has on his civ IV webpage, but none of the walkthrough.

I am up to part six and want to finish it (had some time in between because of some time and hardware problems).

Please get them up Sullla and keep up the good work!! :goodjob:

EDIT: They were up again last night when I briefly looked to see if it was fixed, but they're down again when I just look now.

EDIT2: They are up again! Now I can finally read it till the end!

Hi

I've only bought Civ 4 recently and had a read of this walkthrough and just want to say a HUUUUGE thank you! There were so many aspects of the game I didnt really understand, like opening your borders to people to allow trade, and using missionaries to spread your religion in other countries - I've been trying to get a diplomatic victory for ages but never could because no-one liked me enough - but I'm fixing that now :)

I also didn't really understand the specialist part of the game but now I understand it completely and have my very first GP farm up and running :D

And I didnt realise sacrificing catapults and cannons was such a good idea with their collateral damage!

Thanks again the whole thing is brilliant, and it might mean i can move up from Warlord to Noble now :)

This guide seems great, but should be on one page to be in the Academy. This will fix that - but someone will have to insert pictures themselves (I just don't have the time or RAM).

I am having this same problem. It is the windows open but display 404 error.

I just found Sistulituls beginners guide and it is quite helpful.
Reccomendation is to look at that instead of this broken guide.

It's been down for like 2 weeks I suppose he's gone since he hasn't posted here or in Realms Beyond. I'm patient though, it's just i've never read it and i'm interested to read it.(And his epics).

He's around, but my guess is busy with RL and not very active. Sirian is the same, which has taken a massive bite out of the RB community. If you want to read it, you can download a pdf version here, although I have never looked at it.

I have a problem, I can't read any of the Walkthroughs or Introduction.

Is something wrong Sulla?

BTW, I am using Firefox 2.0

The Walkthrough (and my website as a whole) has been moved to a different location. You can now find my Civ4 website at:

Please feel free to update bookmarks/links/etc. I have also gone back and edited the initial post with updated information. :)

Hey Sullla, great walk-through. Thank you so much! I printed out every page of it, and put it in a folder and read it as if I was studying for a med school exam!

Thanks!!!

I am about to purchase Warlords....I hope that there is a similar walk through for that (i.e. describing the differences).

Your approach (of creating a walk-through instead of strategy guide-lines) was awesome especially for novices like myself.

I played one game (before reading your guide), and I ended up conquering 4 out of the 5 civs but by that time I was broke and people started rioting. I seriously hope that the next time I play I can move up a level (to Warlord) and not run into financial troubles.

I read through the walkthrough and have played a couple of games myself.
There is something that is escaping me...how does one actually do the 100% science throughout an entire game? How does one get income that would go towards maintaince costs (for cities, etc.) and not to science research?

(If it matters, I am playing Warlords.)

You would have to build money making buildings (not commerce). Commerce is divided through the slider.
So for instance a shrine would do it, or specialists. But it's very hard to do it, and often not necessary. It's not the % that matters, it the absolute value that does.

PS. Better post such questions in a new thread instead of bumping such an old, although very good, thread.

Have fun
