Sulla's Civilization IV Walkthrough

Hi Guys,

When my settler is active, I can only see food info, no hammer and/or commerce info. Is there any option I have to turn on?

Wow, we have some demanding fans here. I wasn't expecting to hear that the Walkthrough "is not sufficient" and that "I expect you to supplement it". It appears to be difficult to please everyone. :crazyeye:

Fortunately for you guys, Sirian and I have been playing out another game in the Succession Game forum here at CivFanatics that goes into more detail on some of these issues. Not a whole lot of trading, but a good deal of modern warfare. There is a link on the first page of this thread to it, another at the end of the Walkthrough, and I'll provide it again here just for convenience:

Sullla if it's any consolation the walkthrough has helped the most important part of any civ game, in the AA. Thanks! :thumbsup:

FWIW Cuban Isolationists is the icing on the cake.

I wouldn't take it to heart Sullla. I read that and thought it was odd too. Not everyone is from Maryland ;) Sometimes the subtle connotation of an English phrase can be lost in translation.

I think what should be taken from all this is that people from around the world appreciate your hard work, and would love to see more if you have the time. :goodjob:
 
If you go back a few pages in this thread, you can see a couple of folks who made the Walkthrough available as an Adobe Acrobat PDF. If you print that file out, it comes to more than 160 pages.

Honestly, my mind still boggles at someone taking the time to meticulously go to that much effort to create the Civ 4 Walkthrough.

In that walkthrough, Sullla took the time to show a gazillion different aspects of the game. What is even more amazing is the effort Sullla and Sirian are putting into documenting their RB Succession game. I particularly like it when the two of them disagree.

No. We need the forest so we can build a lumber mill.

But we won't have that technology for 1000 years!!

Yup, I created a PDF I'm hosting on my site that has all 159 pages of goodness. This was after the site Sullla had hosting the html went down temporarily. Sometimes its nice to have the whole thing on your desktop as a reference, rather than reloading webpages.

Great job! I see I have a loooong way to go before I reach your playing level. I now look at the game in a totally different way; I might even win some games now!:) Thx!!
 
I haven't been able to read the whole article yet, but I like what it has so far. I think it's a great way for people just getting started into the fourth version to get up to speed on the new features of the game.

Hey Sulla, did I already mention that I think you've written an excellent piece? If not, you've surely written an excellent piece ;)

One thing I was wondering about though, is the stone/stonehenge start. Did you specifically look for this combination or is it pure luck? Thus far I've only found stone this close once, but when I could build my third city (at which point it might've gotten useful) I was already close to calender.
 
well i don't know if this is off topic but in the first great scientist pictuure the aqueduct goes into the mine!
