-Arabs: Expansionist/Religious, UU is Ansar Warrior, replaces Knights, and are faster and cheaper

Okay, this just doesn't even make sense to me, the more I think about it. At least the other ones are unique in some different ways to existing UU's, but I can picture Mao shaking his head in disgust.
It's the same as the Rider, with the extra bonus of being quicker to build.

I think I may have found some new "favourite civs"...

Actually, has no one noticed the Spanish UU? It's weaker, but cheaper, probably requires only horses, and most importantly, TREATS ALL TERRAIN AS ROADS. Can you imagine the kind of blitzkreig attacks that the Spanish can do with units that can make 6 (or maybe even 9) moves a turn in enemy territory regardless of terrain?

I'm a little upset that they matched the civs abilities to what they thought best rather than made sure they were properly mixed up. The Vikings are not as expansionist as say the Americans or Mongols were, and now we'll have two civs very similar to each other, both expansionist/militaristic. I think each civ should be as unique as possible. The first 15 civs are unique. With 6 traits, and each civ with 2 traits, you can have up to 30 unique civs. The only difference between the vikings and the mongols now are their UU. And frankly, I'm looking forward to the mongols Keshik, I will merge them with my Mangudai from Age of Empires and finish where Ghengis Started! The berserker doesn't impress me since water power is weak and hard to build until you get into the industrial era.

I thought that was what this meant :

"Improvements
-Diplomatic and Espionage options are on a single screen now, with list of missions, opponents, and their cities"

I hope by one screen, they mean a table of some sort with active deals, and potential deals.

I hope so too, but I was talking about the foreign advisor screen. I doubt you'll be able to look at that kind of stuff from the espionage screen, although it would be better than nothing. It still belongs in the foreign advisor screen.

I don't think it's going to happen.

Civ Traits- this argument doesnt matter. in the Editor you can change traits of each civ to your liking ( even all traits together  )

Look it up, in the early days, the Arabs were highly expandlistic. Look at the 100 years after Islam was started. They expanded to 10 times there orginal size. Literally, 10 times!

Is that the spread is ISLAM or is that the spread of the ARABs?

Er... doesn't mean the Ottoman and the Persians are subsumed under the Arab civ in CivIII?

No. The Persians, as presented in Civ, are pre-Islam. These are the Persians that fought against the Greeks, not the Muslim Persians of later years.

And the Ottoman Empire was a separate entity from the Islamic empire started by Mohammed. They were Muslims, but they weren't Arabic (they were Turkish, a different people who had come originally from central Asia), and the Sultan had supreme power in the empire. The Ottoman Empire and the Muslim caliphates had nothing in common except religion, and the fact that the Ottomans eventually controlled the same territory that the caliphs had, and then some.

If you look at the multiplayer game setup screen shot u can see under type of gane "turnless" :D

Also, in the setup you can disable 'cultural conversion'.

If this is what I think it is, a lot of people wil lbe happy ;)

Weakened wonders kind of annoy me, but really, what on earth has SETI done for us anyway?
[/B]

That's because a real SETI Great Wonder hasn't been built
yet in our world. :scan:
