Super Power Modpack - Total Conversion

Hi Lincoln - first of all, great mod! Incredibly refreshing - finally, a whole new experience.
Still, I was wondering if you could make this compatible with Civ IV Diplomatic Features, which to my mind is an absolute must (technology trading, vassals, etc.). Right now they don't work together - the diplomatic interface gets all messed up, with loads of meaningless options.

PS: just in case you do not know, the Steam version of Civ IV Diplomatic Features used to be buggy, but changing a single line in the .xml fixes it (I did it myself, but I guess it should have been updated by now).

mod is finally working for me and no crashes so far but this happened when i was researching machinery in my current game

so i changed techs and researched something else..and it did it again!!

now it's impossible for me to advance in the tech tree!

so the new 4.2 helped a bit. went back to first saved game crash at turn 204 and got 3 more turns til screen went blank. could hear sounds of the game and was able to get into task manager and saw a render error. since the original crash i have new 340 NVIDIA driver, ran game optimizer and it lowered res to 1680 from 1920, and of course 4.2 update. was hoping for a bigger breakthrough..will try other crashed saves and a new game also. Tech tree still didnt scroll
 
Update Note (8/4/2014): v4.2 Released

Should be compatible with older version’s saved files unless you have the Modern Work Boat Unit in v4.0 (removed in v4.1) in game.

Bug Fixed
v4.1 has been proved to be a failure to solve the CTD problem in v4.0. Now some leftovers have been fixed.
The unexpected RESEARCH OVERFLOW and most CTDs are confirmed to be caused by the lack of “nil” condition in New Trait and Policies.lua. Now it is fixed. (Thanks cocoleche for the codes, 幻影 and 法伊 for testing)
Fixed a problem will cause CTD or corrupted saved file caused by using “player:GetName()”. (Thanks far_away_land and Maximus for codes)
Fixed a bug that the policy “Third Alternative” will cause runtime error.(Thanks Maximus for codes)
Fixed a bug that Japanese units will grant you culture when embarking or disembarking.
Fixed some notification text mistakes like the description of the new work boat.
Fixed a bug caused by new BTN: “settler joining the city” – the working population won’t change.
Considering not everyone owns Conquest of the New World DLC or G&K DLC, so some textures from them have been extracted to the mod itself. This may solve some “missing texture” or “broken Tech Tree” for some people.

Balanced Tweaks:
Now the Work Boat will spend some turns to build the naval improvements since they won’t be consumed. (building the fishing boat need the same time as the farm while oil platform, the oil rig )
The amount of culture needed for acquiring new plot in the city has been lowered to compensate fewer cities on the map due to the increased min city range.
The cost of building Brazilwood Camp has been lowered while AI priority increased to make it able to compete with lumber mills in jungle.
 
it's cool, my dlc' matches your's. i dunno what the issue is, but clearly something is funny and apparently it is on my end but the problem is i just don't know what it is. It can't be a logitech driver out of date because i just updated them, cant be a vid driver out of date because i just did that too. .shrug

Yes, it's deleting the civilopedia text file.
By the way, i hope this isn't too much to ask but can you increase the unit quotation limit per civ or removing it because with 20 troops it so hard fighting the giant earth map.

If you want to change the limit, just go to Super Power Units (v 4)\XML\UnitLimit.xml and you will find the limit. (new units limits are in Super Power Units (v 4)\XML\Units\UnitClasses.xml)
 
Do you think it is G&K that I am missing?

The first texture i see missing is the granary that must be available some place other
than the G&K DLC

as far as i understand G&K dos not ad anything that BNW don't, besides maps and civilisations

I'm not sure if this is a bug with your mod as I have quite a few on, but I'm on about turn 230 and when it gets to the barbarians turn the game freezes, it doesn't close, it just puts the animated loading cursor on forever.

Edit: Denounced instead of forgave someone who was caught spying on me and it worked fine.

Sorry but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this mod. I didn't change anything about the diplomatic system.
 
I had some great games so far and the only bug not mentioned here yet i encountered is submarines attacking air ships ( quite effectively ).

I dont think torpedos are meant to kill air units ^^

Sorry but this is defined by the game mechanics. Ranged units can attack anything within the same domain. You may think the sub can use its mounted gun to take down the airship.

You will find a "Diplomacy - CivIV Features" version of DLL which enables the functionality required by the CivIV Diplomacy Features mod by Putmalk

Yes this should be the leftover problem in the 4.1. Try the v4.2 and go back to the turn before the research overflow. It should solve it once for all.

Sorry but the render error has nothing to do with the mod. You may consider lowering the video settings and cancel the "CPU Texture Decode".

Tech tree won't roll? Have you received any "missing texture" warnings?
 
i have a .dmp file from DX11 thats causing black screens, how can i upload to you

no missing texture warnings, and video settings already lowered to 1680. why would i want to play a game any lower than 1920 anyways? hi def makes them the best, 1680 already stinks, lol
 
Hey there, I have a few bugs to report:
-There is a notice from the beginning of the game that says: "You have a free policy to choose". I cannot choose a policy and it won't go away.
-The Tradition policy "Aristocracy" doesn't work.
-The free Cargo Ship I got from the "Colossus" wonder has a range of -13,7456 plots, I had to sell it because it was unusable. EDIT: I did not have available trade routes, didn't know I couldn't trade with a city-state.

It is still a great mod, really fun to play. Thanks!
 
I'm having a problem where when I try to load a save it CTDs while in the loading screen. The save file is not corrupted. Could it be an incompatibility? Can anyone help? What can I do to resolve this problem?
Nevermind! Updating to 4.2 seemed to fix it.

so i turned OFF GPU Tx Decoder, Hi Detail Strategic View and VSync. Increased rez to 1920. loaded first saved run through I had at 203 moves and its still running 50 turns later! YAAAY!

Still no Tech tree movement tho, using pics u posted on steam. maybe a COMPLETE NEW start? dunno but have 5 games to finish first..thanks for the hard work and GREAT update
 
In my game Fire Ships instantly destroy any unit. I don't know about settlements, but when I attack any unit they get 100 to 0ed. Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: Okay they seem to work okay vs other naval units but for land units they instantly destroy them.

I tried attacking a barbarian settlement and the barbarian was left with 1 hp

i think it's too late to go back to the turn my auto saves every 2 turns. o well have to start again than

just another minor thing with this when you use the UI - City Expansion mod you have to click the buy tile button for the free tiles to appear instead of them appearing when you click the purple hex notification icon.
