I'm doing a scenario where each civ has a unique tech tree, so all units are "unique" and don't correspond to those of other civs. So having a UU simply means nominating which one I think should start the Golden Age... It gives me a bit more freedom in creating proper flavour unit lines, which is nice.

Similiar to what I'm doing with Battlefield Asia and (sort of) Far Horizons, although I haven't gone as far as making a unique tech tree.
