Hello, will Sweden be a playable faction in the upcomming Civ 6?

Since you've put Peter the "great" as the russian leader it ought to be an opponent to him as well, for instance Karl XII.

Take away Congo or some other boring politicaly correct faction, you've got no customer base there, make a run instead and satisfy countries where you have customers! :)

More european factions please and on a footnoote i could mention the ammount of women factionleaders, i understand some people want 50/50 but historically the contribution from men is much much higher thus they deserve to be leaders, not to mention that probably most of the people playng civ 6 is men.

All the leaders in the base game are pretty much confirmed at this point, and there is a civ that is either Norway or represents a more general Norse civilization led by Harald Hardrada, but no Sweden.

That said, it's possible that later on as DLC or in an expansion we'll see either a Sweden civ or an alternate Swedish leader if that civ turns out to be Norse.

Stockholm is a City-state, so sadly they're sitting the base game out. But there's a good chance they'll return in an expansion

Leutz: lead designer Beach will surely want to include Sweden at some point as that particular stormarkstid era interests him.

Nope. But they might be somewhat included in norse/viking under Harald Hardrada unless they are just norway :)

Imo it's more interesting to have civilizations from as different times and cultures as possible then just having them based on nations with a big civ fanbase.

I think the civ fanbase is much more equal then most other games, just based on the people I know who play the game. And I think allot of men prefer to play female leaders as well.

Sweden 9,8 millions of inhabitants. This land has got less habitants than paris. Where is there any sell potential

Moreover what is the importance of sweden on the international plan: almost nothing for 2000+
(Compare to rome, france, spain, ottoman, persia, united kingdom, etc )
I don t know much about kongo but it is hard to bring less to the game than sweden

you are referring to the department île de France. Paris itself is ~2.2 million.
Sweden has a quite interesting history, and it was a major european power during the religious wars in Europe. With religious victory in the game, that alone is enough.
I hope to see it at some point as DLC or in an expansion.

I don't think that adding my home country in a game with a lot of European civs already and also Norway /Norse is a very high priority.

The international diplomacy aspect of Sweden might as well be represented by Norway.

But if we have 60 + civs after expansions and dlc, why not add it then?

But first seven more African civs, seven more as Asian and five more native American please.

Well, since important colonial power like Portugal and the Netherlands are city states, I can't see the possibility of Sweden as full civilization.

Also, we have way too many European civilization already.
Besides Kongo, you might be as well as want to remove China, Japan, Scythia, India, Aztec, Arabia and Sumer too and replace it with Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Hungary, Austria, Andorra and Lithuania. Then rename the game European Civilization VI

I hope Hardrada is a leader for Norse rather than Norway. I'd rather have had a danish or swedish ruler for them, but Norway in itself is much less important than Denmark or Sweden historically, so it would make sense to have a Norse civ, with Hardrada representing the 'vikings' part.

My list for the first civs to come after the release list and spotted Poland:
Persia, Mongols, Inca, Maya, Zulu, Pagan (or another South-East Asian civ), Iroquois (or another North American civ), Portugal, Netherlands, Ottomans. After those 10 other civs like Sweden, Carthage or Byzantium are likely to come.

If you want to speak about Paris, it's not like this. There is Paris, the town, which is the only city of Paris's departement (75), which is about 2.2 million like you said. But there is the région Ile-de-France, which is about 12 million, and the Paris's urban area which is near 13 million (some city outside Ile-de-France belongs to this urban area), and the Paris's Metropole, which is about 7 million.

In France, when we speak about a city, we speak about the entire urban area, because of the way cities exists next to each other.

Thank you for your answers!
It's a shame many great european cultures is not represented, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, poland, italy etc.

Holy Roman Empire is in my opnion too broad aswell, would be cool with like prussia, bavaria, austria, sachsen aswell.

I will have to put my faith in DLC European Civilization 6 as some other person mentioned in the chatt!! :)

Take away boring civs like Kongo ? Well, that's an arrogant statement ! The world is a huge place, and I believe Civ should be continuing to show more less known civs to the public, no out of "political correctness" (I'm truly hating this concept more and more) but out of education and promotion of a non european history.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sweden, but I feel it would much more interesting having Denmark Under Margrete I, although it is unlikely since Norway is in the game.

Sweden is richer per capita than France though.

:p Sorry man, there's a lot of cultures and not a lot of space. I think other areas in the world are in far greater need of representation way before the likes of Sweden, Austria, Italy and the such.
