Sweden's Christmas goat succumbs to flames

yet more evidence that sweden isn't a safe secure place and that it should be returned to denmark for its own peace good order and security
Sure. When gingerbread man and Santa are our "Most Wanted" for torching a goat, something's very off.

2005 Burnt by unknown vandals reportedly dressed as Santa and a gingerbread man by shooting a flaming arrow at the goat at 21:00 on 3 December.[17][23] Reconstructed on 5 December. The hunt for the arsonist responsible for the goat-burning in 2005 was featured on the weekly Swedish live broadcast TV3's "Most Wanted" ("Efterlyst") on 8 December.

I hope the authorities see the value of such a natural grown tradition and don't strangle it. Good stuff :)
Nonono!:)
The authorities semi-approving of this would probably kill it most effectively. Sweden has interesting little areas of anti-eastblishment behaviour, like this one, which goes against the grain of the otherwise dominant social norms.

It's no fun, and no sign of defiance, if it's tolerated.:king:

For the sake of the spirit authorities need to continue to try to prevent and people need to be punished when caught, I don't want to argue that. But they can do so to sort of "play along" or they can become fed up with the burnings and get all draconian about it. Isn't the former already happening in a way? The security could surely be tighter, for instance.
