Something I forgot and it has caused me problems a few times as of late. Im building something, then switch to something else as a priority. Now suddenly I need to switch back. However clicking on the item in the list always cancels it. How to roll-back to the previous build and continue?

Once you've cancelled it, just click it again to reinsert it at the beginning of the queue. You keep all the production you've done on it.

When you need to 'switch to something else', simply Control-Click on the new priority build item to put the new build at the top of the queue. This will move the existing build to the next spot in the queue.

Yeap, there are a few keyboard & mouse combinations allowing you to better manipulate the queue: Ctrl+Click for top of the queue (even on top of a newly started building with no hammers invested), Shift+Click for bottom of the queue, Alt+Click for infinite building (for units). Alt+Shift+Click and Alt+Ctrl+Click just combine effects.

Also, don't forget that hammers invested decay after a while, so don't leave them in a building or unit for too long or you'll lose them.

What's the decay rate btw? Valuable piece of information when considering my whipping techniques ;)

Related question while I'm at it: what's the decay rate of a, say, half researched tech that isn't being actively researched anymore?

This is all from memory of things said in different threads, but I think the decay settles in after 10 turns for units, 50 turns for buildings, hammers never decay for wonders, and beakers from techs also never decay. If anyone has more info, please post it. Also, I have no idea about the actual rates... :D
