Syriza Wins Greek Election

Yeah, good move. Like I said a few days ago.

Too bad for this "good move" that there is no time to execute it. It would be less desperate move if it was announced ten days ago.

It forces a decision after years of indecision. That's a good thing.

Considering that leaving more time would lead to a default prior to the referendum, the time-gap itself is not as strange.

I am in favor of there being this referendum, at least in principle, so that it will become evident what the view is of the ongoing negotiations that have failed dramatically up to now. I have to guess that the answer to the question (the proposed question is 'Do you accept the deal offered by the institutions' -or similar-) is going to be 'No' with considerable majority. That doesn't mean i expect the massively undemocratic situation in the Eurozone to change as a result of that. It likely won't.

At least after this 'Ochi'/No Italy is not likely to invade. Not sure about Germany though, but if it reverts to ww2 the end of it is not that attractive for them either

And i agree with Kronic that at least there will be a final answer, instead of the 'have a 5-month extension after 5 months of not giving an extension so as to prepare to leave the deal' charade had here.

(one thing i hate is how other parties, particularly the rotten ones, already responded to the referendum idea).
