Alright.
We know from the original Isaac and the Wonders (here) that we most likely want to build Sun Tzu.
There was one poll as to where, but it was rejected as people did not want to settle on a location.
Well, here we go again.
a) Do we still want to build Sunny Ts?
b) If yes, where
c) If no, then what do we use it on
d) Is anyone stupid enough to want to try the Sci Golden Age
e) Would you like fries with that?

a) I'd rather we didn't
b) don't build it anywhere
c) I think we should use it on Leo's workshop
d) umm... not me
e) of course, extra large please

I suggest we use it on Great Library or Leo's Workshop.

I still want to build AoW but not with the SGL. I want Isaac used for the Sistine Chapel. Yes, I would like fries with that. :D

I'm still in favor of Sun Tzu's. I'd say we should build it in a city with no foriegn citizens and no flip risk. I'll put forward Roosting Tree again.

Note: the use of SGLs is actually the President's area of responsibility, so be sure to include her when initiating polls.

Thank you for starting this SaaM, I must admit I thought the poll decided we did want Sun Tzu, we just were't sure where, but now I look the question was shall we build Sun Tzu in Roosting Tree and the poll was tied, although some of the no votes indicated they voted no because they thought it was too early to decide where. We are getting close to being able to build Sun Tzu, we are researching Engineering, Monotheism is known to the French and Dutch so Fuedalism can't be far behind. We'll be able to build it soon and we want to be ready. We'll have quite a wait to build anything else, I don't think I want to have Sir Isaac hanging around that long.

So Sun Tzu - yes, for all the reasons started earlier. (free barracks with no upkeep, instant troop healing even on frontier cities, able to upgrade anywhere.....)
Where - I'll need to look more, but a city not prone to flipping, but where the culture will give a good boost to our borders.

For style points we should use him for Newton's University in Oxf--no, Cambridge

Seriously: what MOTH and Ginger_Ale and Furiey and RegentMan said. Sun Tzu, anywhere. You don't want me to make the "soldiers sleeping in haystacks" speech, do you? ;)

Oh, getting Newtons in Oxford is a later goal... I mean... nothing! you see nothing!
So it seems some people want to possibly innititate a prebuild for another wonder. Ok. Where? and starting when?

I'm actually going to say: Oxford, as it is a productive city, but not our most productive. Taking it offline for 40odd turns wouldnt effect us that much (heck, its been offline producing culture. it wont be missed in the war.)

Suggestions?

Newtons has to go in a city called Cambridge. I may have to start a campaign to name a city Cambridge in fact.

Sun Tzus must be the leader build. Inland is fine, but I would put it in a completely corrupt city where the quick culture will help join up other cities around it.

We need to build Sun Tzu's for all reasons stated. The city doesn't really matter but like Furiey said it should be a city not prone to culture flip, such as Roosting Tree, Camelot, Oxford, etc...

@Mad-Bax: But isnt the sometimes abbrivated name of the two colleges OxBridge?
I suppose building Newtons in Oxford could be compared to putting Harvard in New Haven, but still...

And I agree w/ my deupty here. Put it somewhere in our core where it could be easier to defend.

SaaM

I vote for Sun Tzu for all the reasons we discussed in the original thread on this.

I wouldn't worry much about defending the wonder. By the time we're ready to use the leader to rush it, we should have all of our continent sealed off with the exception of a few cities in the north (Tatung, Valencia, etc.). When we war again with the Indians we'll be taking Jaipur and Bengal; these control Gem Mountain, which in turn seems to form a land bridge to the rest of the world. It'll be tough for another civ to invade our home continent via an overland route.

Leader rushing in an area which is highly corrupt but not a flip risk actually sounds like a good idea. Long-term it would be nice to have wonders in several different cities so they will be Cameot Award candidates.

Which brings me to ask the question, instead of building it in the fringe, what about Camelot? Surely we want our capitol to win it's namesake award. ;)

So yes to Sunny Ts, it seems.

Part II:
a) Where do we want it
b) Do we want to start prebuilding for a second wonder as well
c) If yes, what wonder
d) How many wonders do we want out of the Middle Ages
e) Supersize it? Note to all: see the move "Supersize Me"... just not after eating

Put the first one in our capital. It deserve it since it started our grand civilization!
