Hi,

I'm hoping that a few of you might take a look at this save.

This is the point of the game (if not earlier) that I get lost. I don't have a plan and not sure where to go from here. If you would take a look, let me know what mistakes I have made, what I've done right and some general direction I would appreciate it.

How it's gone so far:

Fractal Map, Random Leader.
Started in an area all by myself
Took 1 Barb city
Had 1 city defect to me. (flip?)

Thanks in advance

I would love to help out but I don't have Civ on this machine. Could you maybe take some screenshots and post them? (press printscreen, it should be saved automatically in your my documents\my games\<civ bts>\screenshots)

Cheers,

Wouter

Slice,
I'm no expert but...my 2c:

Berlin is nice. You're working good tiles and have the Pyramids!
That normally means switch to representation and try to max out on Specialists. Using HRule with such a small military is almost moot?

Hamburg would be a nice production city. You could use a barracks there and pump units just in case someone gets ticked that you're so far ahead?!?
That said, you already have a couple of wonders and the holy shrine there, so maybe just keep up building culture/wonders there and set aside another city (fast) as military!

Munich seems to be growing cottages and will pay off but you could really be doing even more than that with cottages on the FPlains in Cologne!

The rest of the cities seem under development. REALLY try to hook up the resources you seem to have quickly to keep you way out front, then continue keeping your workers busy!

You're light on military...beware!
And, unless you're planning to war (and I don't see that, unless I missed something) OrgRelig might be better than Theocracy IMHO?

With both Berlin and Hamburg pumping culture right now, you could easily be setup for a Cult Victory. Otherwise, just stay way out front in tech as you are now and really you have a number of choices for your victory!

Just remember that if anyone in the game can catch up in tech it's Mansa!!!
And if ticked off, JC can be a serious threat around Praetorian time!!! Praets and Cats are evil...

Should be a great game. Jump to Noble next if you're in control throughout this one!!!

Hope that helps a bit?

Thank you for your time and information.

As you can see, I really don't know what I'm doing :). I will try to digest your comments. They make sense, but I need to think them through so I won't be so blind next time.

My military is very weak at the moment, more because I really don't have anyone pushing my borders. I'll work on that.

Cologne is a relatively new city that is just growing way to fast :D. Just got a worker there, so cottages will be springing up all over.

Any research path I should follow? I tend to take what ever sounds good at the time, as I don't really have a feeling for what type of victory I'm after. I've read that Frederick is good for a culture victory. Haven't had one of those yet, so maybe I should go that way.

Thanks again

I finished the game today.

Space victory in the 1960's. 8700+ score, put me in the middle of the leader list. Had two cities over 50k culture and one at 38k. Figured I was running out of time for that type of victory. UN never got built.

Have a question, though. I took Rome and even though "it's borders expanded", it never got larger than the one square, starved down to pop 2 and revolted on a regular basis. How can I avoid that in the future?

Thanks for the help.
