Tanks and Planes

Which tanks and planes are the vanilla models representing? I'd like to know so I can work on putting tank + plane models with the right civs.

All I know is :

Vanilla

---Tank : Sherman (USA)


I also believe that the modern tank is modelled after the Abrams.. But I'm not 100% on that

I think the Civ4 Bomber is the Lancaster while in Civ3 I believe it was the B-17.

The modern armor is the Abrams I believe.

But you also have to remember that the vanilla units are not REALLY any of these but rather based on real vehicles.

All-

I hate to jump into a good conversation (for the record, all of the modern tanks/planes/etc in civ 4 do a very good job representing what TheBladeRoden says they are, I've measured many of them against scale drawings of their real life counter-parts), but you all have stumbled upon a pet peeve of mine!

Please, when you talk about units in a mod, whatever they may be, please, please, please check who MADE them, not who USED them when you want to reuse them for your uses. This is of course if you're going to be posting any use, such as in a mod; personal, non-distributed use is always OK in my book, that's why they're here, after all! I don't know of any units in Maxriga's very complex mod that he actually made; he just put them together in a very creative and fun way. He does a great job of giving credit to on his webpage (http://maxriga.civfanatics.ru/Units.htm), which I applaud loudly. However, when asking if you can 'borrow,' please make sure you direct that question to the appropriate person.

You're great unit maker - in my mod half of all used units will be created by you. You've done great job for community. I'm also unit maker so i understand your view - to create unit it takes so much time and for download only takes few secs - we (i speak in the name of units creators) don't more just few informations who made this unit - i like the idea how maxriga done this in units' section on his web.
And you don't need to borrow - what you need is sniff in units section of this forum - you'll find a lot of units yet created
