As for quotes weren't there audio quotes too?
History entry could be done by copypasting wiki.

@raxo2222 I'm still working on the civopedia missing texts. Had to take a break to study for some finals before the semester is over. In june I will have more time to resume work.
Make sure you don't copy wiki source numbers - there were random [#] (# being number of source) in pedia text.
I cleaned all of those in one of my commits :p

Personally, I doubt that the prehistoric techs need "strategy" text at all, if only because prehistoric peoples haven't yet discovered/developed the use of strategy. It would be something like "Now you can hit things with a rock!" or "Now you know how to dance!" Unless I am missing the point of the text, which is possible.

Strategy is essentially summary of things that building/unit/tech can do.

It has been, but I'd like to see deeper strategic insights there someday. Anyone can see from the automatic tag displays what a building, unit, or tech can do - but to explain from an advanced player's perspective some hidden gems of knowledge about how to make the most of those things would be a bit more interesting.

This would be hilarious and awesome if most of the prehistoric techs had strategy quotes like this.
 
Ah, got it, it is strategy from the player's perspective, not from an in-game one. That makes more sense.

I agree with Thunderbrd, that anyone can see the functions of the things unlocked by mousing over them. Thus the strategy text should go deeper. Or shallower if humor is preferred. Possibly both. And suddenly I find myself contemplating trying to make one or two sentence texts for each Tech and weaving such into a metagame story. I ... am going to have to give this some thought.
 
OK, by way of heads up, I am back in action with modding and I plan on adding the techs described on P. 106, hopefully today or tomorrow.
I see 12 techs are going to be added increasing total to 941 techs.

This might shift my calendar slightly as its based on tech tree.
Normal speed might see some shifts by turn.

X61 - X70 is Industrial, 3 additions.
X71 - X85 is Modern, 4 additions.
X86 - X98 is Information, 4 additions.and 1 moved so total gain of 3 techs.
X99 - X109 is Nanotech, Gets one tech from Information
Galactic era gets 1 tech.

Those eras will be slightly longer at cost of others.
Cosmic era is shortest one in my calendar....

There is Frost Beams tech at Transhuman era, that shamelessly claims, that is very speculative.
Not sure if this one is too speculative to be here.

Also techs might be needed to be resorted, and any tech prereq redundancies of techs/buildings/units would have to be cleared.

I love this tech tree and I know some tech placements are debatable but why does Sailing come before Agriculture? I can't find any info that dates Sailing that early in history.

I think it refers to sailing along coasts, excluding religion and lifestyle tech they are next to each other.

One possible date given in Wikipedia for the Austronesian migration to Taiwan from the Asian mainland (by outrigger) is "approximately 10,000 - 6,000 BCE".

It's vague I know and it's one seemingly unpopular school of thought, but is that early enough to answer your question?
 
An outrigger has nothing to with sailing. Outriggers allowed small boats to remain stable on the ocean. The earliest evidence of the actual sailing technology is from around 5000 bc in the Middle East well after the invention of agriculture.

The game's outriggers have sails. It's likely the Austronesians' ones did too, as the distance in question is 180km.

Still I did say it was one unpopular school of thought.
 
Distance has nothing to do with it. You can travel across the ocean on currents alone as proven by Thor Heyerdahl. Austronesians did use sails but that wasn’t until the end of the Neolithic.
