thanks, i'm really glad to win. wow, 2 uncontesed elections in a row. people must be scared of me. 
@nobody: you could be my deputy if you lose, but i'd like to let everyone who wants to to apply first.
one more thing. unlike GA said in the infrastructure thread, i do have to complain. though i am very happy to be the new external consul, i felt that it is not right. by having noms cut a day short, people who may have wanted to run didn't have a chance to respond. also, debate questions barely got off the ground, with most going unanswered.
i was also looking forward to someone challenging me as well.

I'm sure that we'll get DGVII started, but Civ IV will come out in the middle of it. This will cause paticipation to plummet, and make it the last Civ III DG. But we'll have a Civ IV DG to play with. Same thing happened to the Civ II DG.
Well, considering that this game might end in a term or two, we'll probably have DG7. Even if it's a log demogame, and Civ4 comes out, we'll have to wait a bit so that people get the game, and learn the ins and outs of it. The strategy might be completely different, unless we want to play cold-turkey. Anyway, this is something for another thread...

Hmm...cold turkey. That sounds like fun. I think that a lot funner than having a set way of playing the game. As Chieftess said, that something for another thread...

Even though there is no election i have a question for the external console elect: Assuming the current military action is completely sucessfull how long will it be before we can stop fighting and peacefull bulid culture? or do you intend to keep fighting wars until the end of the game? If you plan to make peace how many turns away is this (roughly)?

sorry for the delay on the answer, but i've been busy the past 2 days. anyway, my answer: i think we need to eliminate France, Portugal, Spain, and China before we go 100% culture. We might need to take out Persia, but that will be WOTP. once we have enough territory, there should be no need for wars towards the end of the game.
