Yep, just like in Mao's Cultural Revolution.

;) I know, Stuck. I was just kidding. I will miss him too.

In the Term 6 Senate Forum, there is a discussion about a new concept for worker use in Fanatika Provinces. Please stop by and add your opinion on the matter.

Being a scientist he should be able to figure out a way to cut those trees down faster so he can return to his lab sooner!

The scientist will live on, though. While in the forest, who knowes? mabey he'll stumble onto something?
Like the scientist in _Dog Soldiers_?

Dear Governor,

As mayor of Palanthus I must question the need of a granary in our fine city. Withour new market we can put a couple entertainers in the field and reach a surplus of 10 food per turn. Perhaps now would be the time to recruit a settler for our domestic advisor's size 12 plan?

I also wonder about the need for building more temples. Would not markets make more of our people happier? What has happened in Penguin? "We Love the Governor" days are no longer celebrated there! Is that becasue the city needs an aqueduct to continue its growth?

and your loving deputy

To my deputy: Yes, I agree that the granary would serve little purpose, now. But later on, it will help.
As to temples- Agreed. Let me do some cursed homework and ill redo the queue for markets. Mr. Smith may need to open his shop alittle bigger.
And as to the lack of the WLTCTD in Penguin: I put Mr. Pindleton in the forest. He's a lumberjack (and thats okay, seeing as he gets more sleep). He is grumpy from having been the sole source of science. He just needs to loosen up and try some of the new dances, or mabey read a little less. When the courthouse is complete, with the honorable Judge Judy presiding, i will do a market prior to the university, so that Mr. Pindleton wont yell at the students when he teaches on Health and Music.

(BTW- Im considering an RPG thread "The Adventures of Pindleton in Penguin, the Life and Times of Fanatika's Favorite Scientist" Any thoughts?)

donsig, I would like to start on the Size 12 plan as soon as possible. My reason for wanting a granary was so that Palanthus wouldn't take long to return to form after producing some workers(we should go with workers instead of settlers, right?).

As a matter of fact, if we could get Palanthus to a 10food/pt surplus.....I believe the city produces 5 shields/pt. With a granary, we could put Palanthus on a continual 2-turn worker production cycle without losing any population. What do you think?

Im in the midst of a PTW PBEM right now so I can't look at the save. I do remember that Palanthus has 3 entertainers and 2 can work (maybe even the third can as well) with all citizens being happy. The two entertainers can boost the food surplus to 10 food per turn. As for using workers rather than settlers, in theory it would be more efficient but in practice it may not work at all. I think any workers Palanthus produces would end up on our President's Chain Gangs.

Well, if they were celebrating WLTCTD in Penguin and have suddenly stopped I need no further explanation.

I am aghast at any suggestion that the Queen puts native Fanatikans into forced labor. That dubious catgeory is reserved for foreign workers.

The contract laborer companies produced in Palanthus may or may not become federally employed, as per the Domestic Office's instructions. My experience has been that federal hirerees are usually better paid and their buildings have better landscaping and restrooms than state or provincial workers. That may explain any "diversions" of labor rather than any conspiracy in the council. However if the Governers are worried about this, a "GoTo" writ including in their instructions should officially deal with the matter.

You might be interested in the idea I floated in this thread. It basically calls for us to split up our workers among the provinces ona permanent basis. (After the rail project is complete of course.) This way each province would have a set of workers to improve tiles and clean up pollution, etc.

That's a very sensible suggestion.
