Most definitely. The Jag doesn't really pose a serious threat, barring some extremely poor luck on our part, to our troops in the cities, but the worker is too valuable to risk losing. He can, of course, keep working the current tile until we attack, but I'd move him south as soon as he completes his task or on the turn we attack, whichever is sooner.

I'm concerned about the jag near Valhalla. Should I have the warrior work near the capital, so it is away from the jag or move it into Valhalla until the jags attacks or goes away? I want input from everyone. I'm going to have the southern worker finish his job then go to place the road on the forest to connect the iron.

I am too conserned with the worker's safety. Lets move the Worker into Valhalla untill the coast is clear. Its better safe than sorry ;).

I've added potential borders for two other provinces to my original map. I think these borders are consistent with our desire to run along natural geographical boundaries and they provide enough room for between 8 to 12 cities with minimal overlap.

The borders may require additional tweaking upon discovery of nearby terrain (specifically, the areas southeast of Japan, south of Azteca, and near America). Until we oncover the hidden areas of the map, it is going to be difficult to definitively assign provincial borders.

Proposed Provincial Borders (240kB)

PS. The names on the map are not official. They are solely placeholders for internal purposes.

PPS. Although everyone seems to think the area to our southeast is a "land bridge" to the rest of our super-continent, I'm still holding out for a continent in the shape of a doughnut!

the eastern gate seems to cut it awfully close to america, but other than that i think its pretty good; though i would make no objection to enlarging bohemia. ;-)

Please direct provincial border proposals to the appropriate thread! It makes no sense discussing the same things in 2 different threads, so please put them into the citizen discussion about this topic.

It is, but there is a thread for it. So please use it.

Zarn, I was wondering. When we capture the Aztec Capital, Shall we rush build a barrack (For faster heal time) and a spearmen (The war would drag on if we wait for the city to build a spearmen, thus slowing our army down having to defend it).

hmmm... this is something that we might have to wait and see. The capitol might not have enough people to rush. Does it? If it does, there still going to be poed Aztecs.

I'd suggest that if we do pop-rush anything, it should be a temple. Attempting to rush anything else will just make the city harder to control.

Chances are that the Azteca capitol will only have 1 pop unit left after the rush build. By the time it grows, the people will have forgotten the "harsh treatment" we have imposed from pop rushing.

Killing citizens intentionally through pop rushing is something that was quite a contentious subject in the history of Phoenatica. In fact, some of the foundation for quorum rules arises out of that practice....how is that for a obscure reference?

The use of such practices should be polled on the topic general before any such action is taken in game.

Yeah.....wasn't I the culprit that time?

Anyway, pop-rushing a barracks I do not support. Pop-rushing a cultural improvement to reduce the chances of culture flipping, I do support.

Bad eyrei! Bad! :whip:

Anyway, I have another provincial border proposal:

I just made the names to identify them easier... and of course, 'province 1' is Bohemia. Province 2 could extend into that space where the blue arrow is pointing to.

Nice map, CT. My only concern is who would want to govern the "Nordic Lands" province? I doubt any city could sustain a desirable level of production given the terrain that dominates that landscape.

Gem Mountian, in theory, is a great province. But where in the world would we put a city? I agree with 40j over the fact its a nice map. But Nordic is perfectly governable. Also- Wrong thread. Please direct all maps to the Discussion. When we get public support of a map, Ill poll it.
