Terrorist attack in Sarajevo

Although I can see where you're coming from my eyebrows are involuntarily twitching at what you just wrote.
As a rule, the outrageous stuff I post is sarcastic.

Yup hes a muslim, confirmed radical wahhabi. He lived in a Wahhabi enclave called Gornja Maoča, last year there was a police operation and many members were arrested and foreigners deported.

care to explain where Gornja Maoca (forgive my heathen spelling) is? So I can see if I could connect it in some idiotically silly way that'd make me laughing stock of CFC?

Azerbaijan has had similar problems. Some Salafi Muslims have been trying to turn the largely relaxed Muslim population over to their side with limited success. Eventually their mosque in Baku was closed by the government. Turkey has some Jamaat type groups where men live together in rent free apartments. I met one of these groups once and they kept trying to get me to visit, lots of pressure, they're kind of like the Jehova's Wittnesses of Islam. One of my friends learned reading Quran from a group like this but then they kept bothering him all the time so he slowly cut off contact with them.

Some secular Turks are worried about the Fethullah Gulen schools too but he's very publicly anti-terrorism and is definitely not a Salafist.

The green dot is Gornja Maoca, while the red is where I live.

This looks to be more like death by cop than anything else.

The police just said hes not dead, but shot in the leg, everybody was afraid of the bomb so they didn't check him until a bit later.

Wow. A "terrorist" who only selectively targets certain people and a humanitarian SWAT team that intentionally wounds instead of peremptorily executing someone. You have a very advanced country compared to most.

Not in the least. In the US, he would have been dead as soon as the first SWAT sniper had him in his sights.

So its a good thing we didn't execute him, I think thats a blow to him, his goal was to die, so we screwed him.

The important aspect to me is not so much that you screwed him, but that your police didn't execute someone needlessly.

But he committed an act of terrorism on American "soil" that is its embassy, against its citizen, seriously it would be much easier for us to give him to you, we have a bureaucratic nightmare of a legal system, and judges can easily be payed off.

I don't think there will be any chance that this wahhabist thing will have the power or material means to influence any judge presiding in this case.

He'll get easily sentenced, but the penalty will be small and we dont have harsh and max security prisons, you guys have Guantanamo, Diego Garcia... The biggest sentence ever given by our court was 42 years for genocide, that is mass killing of a 1000 people. The security guards haven't died, so he'll be tried for attempt of murder and terrorism, probably 15-20 years. America would give him at least life.

But do you think this guy deserves life?

As terrorism goes - I'm debating with myself whether that's actually a proper description of the events - this was a rather modest attack.

And Forma is really congratulating the Bosnian police with shooting to wound, instead of shooting everything that moves like US police seems accustomed to do.

Well his goal was to die, as a combatant, so life in a max prison is going to be much worse to him.

Spraying people with bullets in the middle of a city... yeah, I think we can put it under "terrorism".

I'm worried for Bosnia. The Wahhabi nutcases seems to be growing in number by the day.
