Test pitboss

Sure I can, we've had 9 turns. So even if you were running a hammer heavy start then the most you could have produced would be enough for an additional warrior. Perhaps if you were maintaining that then you would have another one being built at the end of this turn.

However, it's not a big deal if no-one knows where you are. My borders on the other hand seem to be making me a friend

I would make another remark but I fear LP's analysis...:p

:)

I appreciate I've already asked this and got no response nor have we had a need to yet but is the turn timer being changed to 24 hours? It's still 48 so I was just wondering.

0 huts. And I just found the warmest tile outside of my immediate city area, a tundra. My people are delighted and already planing a resort hotel to take advantage of this warm beachfront property. There are many worse things the RNG might have done to you guys with too much jungle and not enough free techs, enjoy what you have. :P

Are you guys play on cold map setting?

Wait until you find that special someone ;). Unless you already have that tech.

At least you have tundra

Also, I don't have a single resource within a 5 tile radius of my bfc
Maybe you'll have 5 Coppers or Horses though. ;)

Oh boy, you guys are seriously comparing tundra and ice... I guess I should pipe down about my jungle then. Seems like a lot of people got it pretty bad on this map script. All I have to say is that it wasn't my idea - I pushed for Fractal or Big_and_Small. ;)

Fractal could be very brutal at random starts as well. And Big&Small is only good if you get the Big part but completely sucks if you get the Small part. Which again emphasizes a need for map editing before starting a long two-year game.

Well, these games are typically ~8-10 months rather than 2 years in my experience. ;)

But yes, I agree that some map editing is often nice. Although it can also be fun to play on a completely random map, not being guaranteed perfect land or all the resources, and having to work your way up from what you've got.

Either way, I think tech trading will massively balance out many of the starts in this game. It doesn't matter so much what land you have around you, but what neighbours. You could have a crap icy start and have a big tech alliance with the other players on your continent. Or you could have a really nice start and have a hungry neighbour nearby who rushes you early on. ;)

Ihave discovered 34 ice tiles since founding my city and NO other land!

the really scary part? I'm moving toward the equator!

I see a river delta at the edge of my vision... maybe some delicious tundra beyond!

0 huts. 0 smiley resources. 2 marble. not joking.

Edit: I do have a whale to look forward to... that's 1 smiley. :-)
