TETurkhan Test of Time (Map & Mod)

I have been worring about the AI.
I play your mod alot and i like the various barbarians, but the AI has a hard time getting to valueable resourses near or on top of barbarian units.
Take for insance Vikings The AI always do very poor with them. They have never gotten Iorn like the 2 next to them neither the horses or even the oil.
They just avoid them. This is something I think you sould remember about.

Good Job by the way ! :goodjob:
Cant wait for the new version! :D

Well Tet, november is coming soon... Hope U got the mod ready by the 1. :P
Hehe just kidding, but could you tell how far you've got?

i predict it will be done before the end of page 50 (this page). :goodjob:
..which is a nice round number for such a landmark event. ;)

EDIT: "a nice", not "nice nice", lol.

The mod is not about being fair, you should be able to win with any nation there is available, (Israel, and England, are one of the weakest because of them having only 2 citys at the start and almost no room to expand to) so either you need to play with a easier civ (India, China etc) or lower you difficult settings. ;)

First you must take the Viking town of cardiff, it is poorly protected at the very beginnnig, so -with luck- you could take the town if you leave all your cities ungarrioned, sue for peace and get some cities while you are at it. The celtic town of Dubblin must be taken ASAP for there are many settlers, start building a galley in london on the very first turn of the game or you will get no settlers when you finally capture the town. Once you have done that you can either try to conquer Scandilavia or France. (i recomened the former one 'cuz of pirates)

odd advice but thanks i guess another thing is with tibetians are they rigged? i am in the medieval ages (sad isnt it...) and i am currently being invaded by china, india, persia, the songhai, the khmers and the mongolians but i am yet to lose a city waves of riders hit my eastern cities not long ago the warrior monks are unbeatable...

dude you must be kidding me i am thriving up there yesterday after my post i got past the medieval the production is damn good mountains rock at that takes me four turns for a warrior monk when it took 13 at beginning if i came down to attack china they'd **** themselves i feel to strong up there a uninvadable nation

i am angry that it takes forever to make forts up in those mountains my workers take ages for that anyway to speed that up other then changing government i kinda feel like a noob asking that but i will anyway any ideas?

i love the scenario and i play it all the time. but there is one thing that really bugs me off all the time: those irritating pirates.

they disable all kind of naval battles in the mediterranean. for example, as i play the romans i want to create my own roman empire and that means i want to beat the crap out of carthage early. but i cant do that because of those stupid pirates. it means i have to conquer nation by nation and go around the whole mediterranean to beat them. and that takes a while...

to get rid of the pirates i have to use a strategy wich means luring the pirates close to my land where i have lots of catapults bombing them. and of course it works, but it takes a while and when you think youre free from pirates there comes another one...

what's the idea with having them anyways? if it is to prevent everyone from exploring the other continents too early (it doesn't really work sometimes anyways) then why you don't just make galleys wheeled units and make ocean impassable for wheeled units?

the pirates are there for fun they stop you alot but all you need is to mass galleys and then attack often its good to wait to frigates or later but to get to carthage have the galleys that are carring the units surrounded by other galleys at all times and you can beat the snot out of carthage remember they need ivory for their special so disable their link to that their mercs are pretty badass but not to bad for the legions of rome to handle

carthage's uu doesn't need ivory. the pirates have blitz attack and have 3 3 3 in stats. i think that is plain stupid when the galleys have 1 1 3. is it fun when you have to produce 10 galleys to get 2 to the other side of the mediterranean? these pirates disable all kind of naval battles between the civs.

Build a navy in sicily, load it with legions. Build a galley in Rome to lure all pirates in the area. Send your army to carthage and take the capital and take all your galley into the city so they wont be attacked by pirates.

Pirates don't eliminate naval combat. they kind of make it realistic. you won't see england invading israel by sea but you'll see me invaing scandilavia by transporting by sea troop into germany by land up to denmark and by sea againg to scandilavia. Long story short, you have to (if you want to invade a nation) travel by sea but only short distances. This make taking a foot hold much more important objective along with making cities like sevelli, carthage and amnsterdam, cities very close to another mass of land and only separeted by one tile of water, very impotant.

Heh, why do you keep saying "Scandilavia"? =D

I did a google on it, just in case it really was another name for the Nordic region.

Of only 461 total results it omited all but 23 because of redundancy. And all except one of them was Spanish. Nearest i could tell, it has something to do with scandal; given the low number of hits, maybe it's a made-up word, or a common typo. Most of the links i went to didn't even have the word anywhere obvious, and my Spanish isn't goo enough to figure out what's really going on from context, and none of the Spanish-English dictionaries i looked in had the word(neither paper nor online).

So... ??? :crazyeye:  LOL

EDIT: Doh! I left out the good part. This topic was the 4th entry on the list because you keep saying Scandilavia ;)

Bob, what are you talking about? I have a life, AND i have a curiosity. ;) Anyway it took all of about ten minutes.

you have got to get a live;) :lol:lol
