TF2 (split from screenshots thread)

sniper emerging with charged shot = slow sniper = very easy to hit (or at least fire) before he sees you.

anyway, you guys are kinda missing the point. the huntsman is most effective in closer quarters. and yes azzaman i know its lame when people just spam at distance, but after a while you can begin to play skillfully with it.

No, the sniper is camping the cover you're behind with a charged shot.

welcome to circular logic.... ? if he is camping, hes gonna be shot or backstabbed by someone else. camping sniper = fail sniper

Believe it or not it happens............

I didn't say they camp there the entire game, I said they camp there if they see an enemy sniper coming out there. :hmm: When was the last time you played 2fort?

Plus the huntsman sniper can just use the camping snipers slow rate of fire to close the distance and fill him with arrows.

No, the sniper is 100% charged and not brand freaking new. He's going to shoot you and kill you. :p

Can someone explain to me why they can't fix the broken hitboxes? I mean is it completely ingrained into the code and unfixable? I don't notice it much in TF2 but it's horrible in CSS. Like the only game I can think of where you're supposed to trail the enemy instead of leading them.

I've never had a problem with the hitboxes in CSS.

Lol, why are you guys talking about a sniper noob-off? Huntsman corner spammers and rifle chargers both suck.

The entire point of being a sniper is to pick off members of the other teams without actually engaging them. If you're sniping from places that the other team can get to to pick you off, you're a pretty terrible sniper.

Thats assuming that a) you are the only target and b) you're stupid enough to just casually walk out of cover into the snipers sight.

Yeah, both of those happen regularly on 2fort...

So basically unless you are wallhacking you are a bad sniper?

No, if you're in an easy to kill spot you're not helping your team, because you can't kill anyone.

So either you don't play or you're extremely unobservant. Or you're playing some kind of magic version of CSS that I don't know of.

I play competitively, both online and lan.

I've gotten pretty good as a sniper today, well, at least on 2fort. Was playing scout trying to capture, the other team had like 5 snipers who were being a pain in the ass so I go sniper and headshot all 5 with 5 bullets before any had the chance to respawn, so within like 8 seconds. I kept up the dominance and made most of them finally change classes so I went to spy and worked on that. I've got to work on surviving, I can typically get one backstab in but then I usually get immediately blasted away or have to run back to base and go through the whole thing of sneaking through sewers into their base and all. Starting to like this game.

playing spy is really just about practice practice practice. start on the CnD or IW, then the DR. this way you get to practice those all important backstabs, so when you really need to use them vitally, you can. basically, DR is like playing the other watches but you need to know exactly what you want to do, and be able to execute it. CnD gives you time to think through your strategy for, say, taking out a razorback sniper, or a sentry nest.

Well right now the only spy unlockable I have is the ambassador. I've only really started playing a little while ago, only have that, all the scout stuff, and the huntsman. I really want the CnD because that'd make it a lot easier I bet.

yeah, it does make it easier to get good K/D ratios at first, but eventually, as you become more experienced and learn where the ammo boxes are, then DR gets you awesome K/Ds as it gets very hard for anyone except pyros to kill you.

I'm too experienced with the regular watch to want to change to either of the unlockables. Also, I don't play enough TF2 to reach the same level with the unlockables as I am at with the regular watch.
