Turn Summary for Lurkers Only!

—Turn 2 --

Update:
Not a lot to report.

I finally got my research started  - Babylon is now working to discover the secret of Warrior Code – I need this tech to get my UU Babylonian Archers. I’m researching at 100%, eta 15 turns… but hopefully less due to city growth.
My worker started his road to the furs, and that’s about it!

Stay tuned for more from Babylon!

Hope you enjoy this nice up-close look at my Capital… ain’t it a beauty?!?

Declassified information for all…

- Chapter 1 -
Ammora knelt by the riverside, vigorously washing the crude animal skin clothes of her family. Most of her days began down here by the river – either drawing water, washing clothes, or playing with the children when the weather was nice. Today was all business though. Her husband, Esarh, had ben called away by the Great General for a meeting of some kind. He had been gone for days now. Ammora tried focus on her work… and tried not to worry. Before long she settled into a rhythm of rinsing, scrubbing, and wringing out the water as the river gently babbled along.
Suddenly, her work was interrupted by the sound of male voices shouting. Ammora jumped to her feet, dropped her washing, and ran up the gently sloping river bank. As she reached the crest, she could see the group of 3 men running towards the large hut that Ammora's family shared with 2 other families. She strained her eyes to try to recognize the men, and then yelped with glee when she recognized Esarh among the men hurrying home.
As she ran to meet her husband, she was able to hear what he was shouting for the first time… "A city… A city… The Great General says that we will build a city!"
Ammora wondered what this "city" was that they were all so excited about it… but there was time to find out more about that latter. For now, she was just happy to have her husband home.

A weed that if smoked will get you stoned ... take too much and you go blind ... take more and you have a psychotic break and could even die.

Wow...what are the citizens in Japan doing, wherever they may be? Do they have lots of this "Datura plant?" And if so, how much are they using it?

@ gbno1fan, make sure you put your spoilers inside quote tags so that the other people won't accidently come across them in their email updates.

@fe, where do you get your names from? :crazyeye:

@Meleager - You know, I was just reading through the first PBEM for strategy ideas, and I noticed that problem. I will be taking care of that from now on.

Turn 2(-3950) – After not founding a town on my first turn, I have to decide – should I move toward the mountains, the jungle, the desert, or the marsh :shake:. If only I had tundra in sight, my start would be perfect . I decide to...

Spoiler lurkers only :
found the capital HatontheCat where the settler stands by the cow. Many flood plains will give me a 4-turn factory if I want. I start a scout while the worker irrigates the cow. Research decision time - starting with Alphabet and Pottery, the only real choices are the Wheel for my UU or Writing to try to get to Philosophy first. I am tempted by Philosophy considering I have a decent income start, but I decide to be a coward and go for the Wheel at 100%. Even with 4 commerce, I am only second in GNP – that can’t be good. On the other hand, even if I work a BG instead of the cow, I am still #1 in manufactured goods – i.e. I am the only one getting 3 spt at the start. My scout ventures north into the jungly mountains. I find my first goody huts, but to the north is jungle as far as the eye can see.

Hey look at it this way...we're all getting a head start on the great Chamnix!:D

wow - poor Chamnix... drew the Hittites, and then got a lousy start.*
(*tries to sound sincere)

Seriously – this is just going to make it all the more embarrassing when he schools us.

OR is this all just a clever ploy by a master-player to lure the rest of us into a false sense of security? :mischief:
