The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

Really cool Mod!
Just started my first game as Egypt and noticed a small bug; the start warrior for Egypt is a normal one, not an 'African' warrior.

And the Picts are the first in the queue to be included. :-)

The Goths, the Hittites and the Picts. It'll be my favorite mod, if its not already. Actually it is already, but that'd make it better! :goodjob:

Well, because Egyptians aren't as dark-skinned as Nubians, Carthaginians and Berber are.
But the 'buildable' warriors for Egypt are 'African Warriors'; just the start unit is a normal warrior.
Is this an attempt to simulate a multicultural civ?;)

Ahh... I see what you mean. We can't change that, because we just defined the starting units to be Settler and Warrior. You gotta live with it. ;-)
actually you can, just use the player properties.

Version 1.5 is in the testing phase! We have already added the Picts as civilization, and maybe the Basques come in too.

We really need testers! If you want to test the beta version(s) of 1.5, just PM me and I'll sign you up to the testers group. You will then be able to see the testers group in the CDG forum (link in my sig).

Oh, you need to be registered with CDG first, of course, and I need to know your CDG name...

I've brought PTW with ancient med mod on it but when ever I play it says 'missing pediacon file' at one point of another depending on which civ I play at.
Do I have to dowwnload the whole file or is there a couple of patches with the missing files for PTW in them?
Thans.

Hi there,

...looks like a great mod, except I keep getting a fatal error message when I try to start it up telling me that there is a missing entry in the "Pediaicons.txt" file under the ICON_BLDG_Hellenistic heading.

How do I fix this, since I'm sure I can pretty much do it on my own.

Thanks,

Buster13

I checked out the other site that your hosting the mod on, its pretty dead over there.
Its kinda confusing trying to get a summary of the scenerio with it split into all those different threads.
Could you update the first page on this thread as you go along.
Its seems more people are paying attention to it here than on the other site.

Check out this link, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49040&highlight=the+atlantic
(I think i showed you the other one in the graphics forum with the completed leaderheads).
The leaderheads are still, but I gave them emotions for the various diplomacy/victory etc pcx.

Pdescobar converted the graphics to flic and pcx files. He has the graphics for the last four on the last page and should post them up completed soon.
They could work for the Germanic tribes, British celts/ or any other northern/western euro civ.

PS. Is this mod completed, or is it still being given an overhaul and tested?

The other forum is far from being dead. While there are only 372 posts or so here, there are about 2000 posts on CDG. The MOD is so extensive that you can't really summarize it into one thread. If you check these threads you'll get all the info you need. Discussion is in the other forums.

The Picts will be added in the next update, and I will use your leaderhead if you don't mind. Did I tell you how much I love the beards you're doing? Wow!!!

In TAM we try to use artwork for leaderheads, not computer-generated graphics. I only fill 'gaps' with animated leaderheads (such as the Picts).

The CIV3 version of the MOD is completed and 100% bug free. The PtW version of the MOD is also complete but it's still being worked on, so new bugs come as old ones go... you know the story. ;-)

The Pict is'nt animated, hes a collection of still images made in a 3D program. It helps with that lag problem in big scenerios.
Hmm.. isn't that exactly what animation is? :)
