The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

I had a friend of mine d/l this for me and it works fine.... Took him 20 minutes and took me 8 hours. God Bless country living!

Should Military Training be for continental cities, or for all cities? A concept shouldn't be limited to a continent -- it should be empire-wide.

Also, maybe I haven't progressed far enough in a game yet, but aren't armies supposed to be transportable by boat? It kinda makes it tough on the Macedoneans in Asia Minor, and the Romans trying to get armies to Carthage.

You're getting free barracks everywhere except islands long before anyone else can have them. If enough ppl agree with you, it could change but i wouldn't count on it ;)

Armies should be transportable via ships if the ship can hold the units in the army + the army. Or the other way around, don't load the armies past the transport capabilities.

As Watorrey said, ships can transport armies if they will fit within the transport capacity, counting the Army itself as one unit, plus one per unit in the army (same as normal game). The Galley only carries 2, so a one-unit army would be possible (and follow with another galley with 2 more units, to load when you land). This, BTW, is the same as a standard Civ Galley. Trireme carries 3, so a 2-unit army is possible, similar to a Caravel in the standard game. The Galleass can cary 4, or a full 3-unit army, like a Galleon in the normal game.

Thanks -- guess I've been playing a Scientific game up until now, and never had armies concurrently with low-capacity ships...

That would explain why i thought that there was a problem...

Hi, sorry if it has been asked before.

Is there any (smaller) differential update from TAM 2.2 to TAM 2.5?
Or shall we need to download 80 MB again?

There is a 2.4 version for C3C but 2.5i is a complete package that requires it be downloaded as such. The size savings of a patch was only about 20 MB or so, mostly because of the animated leaderheads.

So, there is a patch form TAM 2.2 to TAM 2.4 for C3C, right?
Where can i find that? Thansk in advance.

But I could not find anything there, related with update from TAM2.3 to TAM 2.4. (Yes, I have TAM 2.3 for C3C)

It takes ages to download 80 MB.

Follow the link in my sig to the TAM site. You'll find everything you need to know there.

I want to apologize in advance if this has already been covered elsewhere in the thread, but I simply don't have time to look through fifty pages. My dial-up prohibits me from even loading that many pages in a decent amount of time. :crazyeye:

Anyways, I've managed to download the file. When I attempt to run the installer, it gives me an error message: "Archive not supported." What do I do to make it work?

Assuming you are referring to version 2.5i then:
It should just run as an executable file by double clicking it. Right clicking it and attempting to do something to it won't work unless you have 7-Zip installed.

http://www.7-zip.org/
version 3.13 was used

You're the 2nd person that has reported a problem with this. I suppose it is possible that some program has installed something that recognizes that it is an archive. Probably some other compression utility. If double clicking or 'running' the file doesn't work, install 7-zip and you will be all set. It's free ;)

I've only got WinRAR on here. But I'll try 7-Zip, thanks. I have been double-clicking, by the by... I'm not a -complete- invalid.

Windows. You just spoke of another compression program possibly labeling it..

I've installed 7-zip (the verison you told me to), but I still can't run the installer.
