The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

Conquests is worth the upgrade, especially if you want to do MP. For TAM, Conquests allows you to play the final version of TAM.

I can only agreed. There is a big positive different from play the world to Conquest, and I can only recommended it. :)

I recommend you download and install the latest version of TAM for whatever version of civ you are running.

I have the j version. Actually, I had to reinstall civ3. Removed several of the scenarios that I never play and TAM must use some of the items I removed. All well now.

I always play as Troy, and get my vengeance on the evil Myceneans. I like how you don't take units from other games like, Conquest of Middle Earth has the Byzantine Cataphract from Age of Empires 2: the Conquerors as the Gondorian Cavalry. It looks ok but I like original units. I especially like how the Longswordsman fortifies. It puts on all of its armor before it digs in, that's not been done before that I've noticed. Well done!!!

Kevin 2350: Then I wouldn't download any more scenarios from this site, they're all very in depth (not busy).

Breunor: As stated above, same here. I can only imagine what thamis would do if he decided to make other scenarios.

I have run into an issue, in the span of about 15 turns, almost all of my cities have the black plague (with the exception of 3 or 4 new cities away from my main group of cities), I have sent no units through any of my cities and have even moved my garrisoned units outside the cities. Yet the black plague persists, any solutions if this is an issue related to the scenario?

You may want to turn plague off in the scenario properties. Late game plague can last a long time and ruin the fun of the game. Cities can get it without you doing anything to spread it.

I agree, when the plague property was first introduced in Conquests I thought it was a great addition to the gameplay as it would be a more accurate limit on runaway population growth than lets say "pollution". However even if you destroy all of the road networks to the affected city(ies) it still doesn't do any good because the majority (if not all of your cities) of your cities will become perpetual havens of the black death. Just turn it off and enjoy the mod. Again to all those seeking simplicity as opposed to a more accurate simulation of the Ancient Med, I would suggest you stick to the vanilla game and perhaps create your own scenario and/or mod from scratch with fewer units, buildings, wonders and techs.:mischief: :mischief: :mischief:

I am planning a bit LAN gaming with a friend this weekend - nice

And I have looked at serveal senarios that I like playing on my own, so we would have only the best of the best to chose from - and this of course, is one of them :D

But tell me, is it not possible to have all the civilisations in the MP game???
The map seems a bit tooooo big, with only 8 civ's in total...

If so, how? If not, why????

Greetings from
Chilolo

Hmm not sure why it's only 8 civs. I guess it's because of the map size. Once I finish it, I'll include all relevant civs, which I guess will be more than 8.

Remember the starting locations aren't set yet. PLEASE can someone just quickly do that in WorldBuilder? I don't have final civ and my pre-release world builder doesn't work.

@thamis: I'm pretty sure he was talking about TAM for Civ3.

@Chilolo: The MP interface limits you to 8 civs max. You may want to consider using the Fertile Crescent map instead of the large map.

yeah well.. It's just a bit too big for 8 players only - and I would really like to be Germanic Tribes, just for, well you know, staying close to your roots...

But it will just have to be on a random standard map, I guess..

Thanks for your time anyway guys..

Hi, wondering if anyone can help out with the installation of this mod. I just started playing again so only have vanilla. I extracted a file called Ancient_Mediterranean.zip into the main civ3 folder and created a folder for it. I then downloaded tam_1.2h_full.exe and installed it into the mediterranean folder. Started the game up and tried to open the scenarios in the mod and civ3 tells me it cant be opened, that the file may be corrupted.

Is there anything im doing worng here? Been banging my head against the wall all day trying to get this to work , any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully someone with experience on the 1.2h version will be along to help you out. I have no experience with it and would only recommend getting civ3 Complete so you can play the 2.5 version.

Got it to work ,I forgot to patch when I installed civ3 , doh. Its a great mod and been having alot of fun with it.

Quick question if anyone can answer, is there any advancement that lets you clean up pollution, its running rampant thru my civ.
