the anime thread

i live in america ,but the only way i can keep up with anime is a anime magazine called anime invasion it has new updates and the new stuff about all anime. and the worst part is i live in the north-east area of (im embarresed by this) tennessee surrounded by hillbillies who think that the only thing in life is cars and ciggerretts.me and a good buddy of mine are the only true otakus in this part of the country its rather sad that the masses cant enjoy anime (not cartoons!!)
 
I have not watch many anime but Love Hina, Gokudo, and GateKeepers are good.

One way or another there is an adult side. You can't really have good anime characters without an adult side. Not all are officially created by the same anime studio. Oh well, you'll learn this eventually.

Lol, i'm not smart and I was not trying to be. I personally want to draw good, I figured I will not be too good unless I learn to nude anyway. I don't really have an gift to draw.

When's it on? Finally some Americans in this thread! I'd just like to ask you American guys: How do you watch your anime? Do you rent it, or is it actually on TV, or what? Because I'm stuck with mostly crap here on cartoon network...
 
(To the general crowd) I've heard Trigun is good, has anyone here seen it, and did they like it or not like it?

I've been cruising through the Cartoon Network schedule right now, I see they play it at 12am and I've heard its goood...:mischief:
 
we just watch it on cartoonnetwork,or on comcast (a digital cabel channel) i have that. trigun is a really funny action packed shot em' up. its kind of like james bond meets cowboy bebop.And on those grounds you'd probobly like it . because i do!!!:goodjob:

FYI, cgannon: Not ALL anime is on Cartoon Network. Most of the time, if you want to see a top-quality, unedited anime, you need to pay more beyond your monthly cable bill. Cartoon Network may show something decent once in a while, but it'll leave a lot on the edittig room floor. For example, the first time Cowboy Bebop ran, they took out a whole episode (It was Cowboy Funk, iirc).

I, though, would really recommend you go out and by one or two of the Love Hina manga first. They're cheaper than the animated seirers, and better...

Anyone out there with tips to similar animes are welcome to give their recomendations.

It's excellent; go for it! Though the series is comedic at first but when you've reached the end, you'd have been treated to a solid story plot, with lots of human sides. :thumbsup:

The Human Typhoon is really funny... :)

Did I mention I have the entire 14 volumes of the Love Hina manga series as well? :p

The manga is even better than the series. The series only cover 1/3 to 1/2 of the full story - I expect a 2nd season soon.

:( I thought it would be so. I just have my basic cable, about 80 channels or so. So its CN or nothing for me. And I'd buy some, but my budget is...nonexistent. Luckily my mom signed up for Netflix an that thing is GREAT for finding movies easily. I'll try to rent some Trigun shows after I watch one at midnight to see if I like it. :)

Ohh how could I forget one of my all time favourite anime: GTO = Great Teacher Onizuka.

You gotta love that teacher, always gets into trouble but somehow miracly he manage to get out of them (well, most of the times).
