the CANADIAN waiting list.

nothing in the Mississauga area either. Thinking i may just get it from steam considering i did not pre-order and stores are only getting 1 copy if u did not pre order

It really sucks waiting for a day, while some living close to a Game Shack get to play it.

*yawn* back to Warlords. Good thing I didn't pre-order. Never gonna do that for an expansion pack atleast...

Nothing as of this morning around here, well as close as that is (45 minutes away).

I am starting to think we are low priority..

This is yet just another example of US shafting us! I mean for crying out loud we're right there(!), just a bit to the north(!). It's not like they have to ship it overseas.

Anyway, my local EB says tomorrow (25th) but then last week they said the 24th so wth do they know. I'm getting extremely antsy.

I called a couple of Future Shops (nothing), and EB Games (there's all went to pre-order, more should come later in the week...).

How does this Direct to Drive thing work? I'm considering it now.... :P

After living in Ontario for a dozen of years, I still don't know why Canada is a G8 country when everything is so inefficient and poorly managed (just look at the TTC, an obsolete "mess" transit system who can only brag about their "history")

I agree ... I blame the province of Ontario 100% for our lack of Civ4:BTS. I hate when the province steps in and holds up shipping of video games. Maybe you can submit a letter to the other 7 major nations that make up the G8 and explain how this xpac not hitting shelves on time (in most shops) should point out Ontario's (and therefore Canada's) inefficiency and poor management, leadership and government, which should ultimately lead to Canada's expulsion from the G8.

Seriously, this is not a thread or forum for pointless badmouthing of any city, town, province/state/territory or nation. Nothing in your post helps anyone in Canada track down copies of BTS in obscure locales, or update other people on shipping news ... so why bother? If you have a gripe with Ontario or the TTC, gripe to your MPP or to the TTC. I don't know where exactly you live so I can't give you the phone # to your MPP's office but call 416-393-4636 to speak with someone in the TTC; you can talk to a receptionist in any of 70+ languages.

why do we need to make fools of ourselves in each canadian dedicated thread ? Btw I live in Quebec and EB clerk said they wont sell it 'till tomorrow, I'm gonna be there at 8 AM

Yup, a city with a transit system you don't like definatly merits a G8 disqualification. I shall alert the cabinet right away!

I went to Future Shop and after correcting a guy lad there with his claims of "rest of the world gets in next week after the US" (!), I persuaded him to check his warehousing records (sku?), and Future Shop in Kanata Centrum west of downtown Ottawa is scheduled to receive theirs on Thursday, July 26 - when the next truck pulls in with resupplies for all of the whole store. (Future Shop doesn't receive new stock every day but just twice a week!) **sigh** Only 10 copies of BTS expected.

And then I went ot EB Games nearby and they're claiming BTS will come in on Wednesday (tomorrow). They also dropped their price from $34.99 to $29.99 - I guess to match everyone else's ;)

And then my car was playing dead in the mall parking lot - battery fragged/no electrical power (not even enough for the measely dome light!). Lovely! **double sigh**

Thank goodness I had CAA membership!

I guess I merely grabbed an example illustrating how certain (not all) Canadians work fairly inefficiently. While Canadians are generally very nice people, the inefficiency and bureacracy in many aspects are also quite appalling and frustrating from time to time, and defending their existence won't help. This is not just the government at various levels or those government related organizations, although they serve good examples. Things like what has been discussed in this thread I have encountered a lot. I lived in Hong Kong, Japan and US as well, and I've worked in three different cities in Canada and I can guarantee you things happen more slowly in Canada in general.

Well, OK, I've gone a bit too far. Let's stop here.

I've been in three American cities and all three times I've been cut off while driving at least once. Therefore, Americans are horrible drivers and should be relegated to having horses and carts!

it's determination and sacrifice !... took me 1/2 hr to get there and 1/2 to get back.... and risking being caught skipping work and the delay of project due monday:crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

Canadian isn't technically a G8 country (based on the criteria of being one of the 8 most industrialized countries) we just get invited to the party because our southern neighbors want another vote form North America.

G8 is based on Gross Domestic Product, and Canada is in fact #8 in the world (based on 2006 statistics). Canada sits in the shadow of the worlds biggest superpower so it looks disproportionatly like a minor country... but #8 out of 181 countries isnt so bad at all. And you thought we had nothing but polar bears and igloos :p
