The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

Lovely. The color scheme is great by the way. I don't even notice your arm problem in these shots, but I'll believe that it's there if you say so. If I had to suggest some sort of change, I would probably say that the background looks a little light for a tomb and that he might stand out a bit more against it were it a tiny bit darker. But that's an incredibly tiny and really irrelevant nitpick. As that is the only thing I can come up with, I'd say it's a job well-done indeed.

That isn't the tomb, I changed my mind on the background. These are palace ruins.

Well I put his map in the Sweden Civ Module from Civ Gold and then added him in the ciivilizationinfos xml file.

What you should probably do (because I am not familiar with the file structure in Civ Gold, is take Karl's artdefines and copy that, then make the proper changes. That seems to be the problem because it works in my module so the only thing I can think of is that the folder structure is different.

PS: I did give a warning about trying to use the files/code with other mods in the database page! I didn't do that just for kicks!

Woohoo! actually I really wnat this so I can catch some face problems. sometimes a piece of the face isnt rigged and creates this weird pull tha can be tough to see.

As for the arm problem. If i get you right the arms look all twisted beef-jerky like? If so they might still be rigged to the torso when I did my body switching and forgot to unassign the arms to the torso.

Well when I was assigning them I didn't see any biceps to attach them to. So I attached the upper-arm to the torso. I didn't notice this same problem with Metternich himself though, so do you know what I should assign the upper arms to?

yeah, i might have to give you the blend then. if you import a nif with nothing assigned to soem bones, then those bones will be "forgotten"

Well what did you assign to what in the Metternich LH you have? Becuase I imported that nif so the bones you used must be there right? If that's the case what did you rig the arms to?

This is the other LH I've been working on, and I'll release this one along with Cersobleptes (once I get the arm thing figured out). I am not sure how I feel about this model right now. Sometimes I think its good, then sometimes I think it sucks. This is Luis Munoz Marin of Puerto Rico. I understand there probably isn't a big clamoring for Puerto Rican leaders but I told Madman I'd make a Puerto Rico module and this will be their leader. I put a little image of the real guy in the shot so you can tell. This is based on De Gaulle, but I edited his face and nose. What do you think so far? And do you have any suggestions? Especially to anyone who knows how to edit models and stuff.

attachment.php

EDIT: Don't worry about the "seams" (they aren't seams actually, I just did a quick cut and paste job on the texturing and haven't edited it yet), because I am already aware of that, but anything else I would appreciate suggestions on.

If the hair were slightly different, he could double as a Lazaro Cardenas of Mexico.

Well there are a few things I hae to do for LMM. I'll probably make his skin lighter and add some bags under his eyes. But here is another LH I am working on, for an Apache module I'm making. This is Cochise...

These are the in-game shots of Cochise. This is the first draft version. Do you guys have any ideas about the texturing? I think if the clothing had some different texturing this LH could look a lot better. Any ideas?

Cochise: The tie-texture is a little bit...i don't know, i just think, it doesn't fit good.
And looking on the pictures, i would say, he needs more wrinkles.

Munoz Marin: Perfect, i need one more non-caucasian LH, for an indian or arabian leader.
Maybe also some more wrinkles.

I really like Cochise, except for one thing, the place where the hair meets the vest. I realize that this is an issue with the vest itself (being extremely evident on the Idris leaderhead out there). However, I think that this would be absolutely perfect if you somehow found a way to repair the error. On the plus side, I love the jewelry on the model, and the bolo tie.

My only complaint is that the eyes are a bit too green. Face should also be a bit wider, sort of square shaped. Aside from that, looking good.

I'll change the eyes to a dark color. I might even change the background image as well. The hair might be difficult to fix really, I'll see what I can do.

About the wrinkles I can probably manage to change that. I was thinking I could either keep him without wrinkles and use dark/black hair, or add the wrinkles and keep the grey hair. Which do you think; old Cochise or younger Cochise?

As for the tie; how should I texture it??

Not to be a total downer, but I don't necessarily intend on going all out for this leaderhead. Its just one of the leaders that will be in another module pack I'm making, which includes the Apache. I am also going to make a Native Americans module pack with tribes like the Cherokee, Mapuche, Inuit, etc. (list isn't finalized), where I'll probably be making more LHs. After this round I have a few requests I have to work on. So for now I'm, a big backed up on LHs. But suggestions are always appreciated. I am also going to finish Toussaint L'Overture and Cersobleptes. I have a couple others coming in the next round of LHs too. As usual I'll keep you posted.

i may haved not asigned it to the biceps in order to prevent a bad overlap between the sash, suit, and the bicep. sorry.

Alright Ekmek, I'll try and figure something out. Worst case scenario I remake the model (although I'll probably avoid that at all costs). Here is my progress on another LH I am working on so far; Mongkut of Thailand/Siam. I hope you like it.

EDIT: I added some in-game screen shots.

it might not be too bad just cut off the head of mine and cutoff darius's head. then put my head, your suit and darius suit all in one nif. import the nif. the skeleton may not line up with te skeleton but with moving and rotating it. it should work. atleast thats how i've started doing things - like putting my jingu on pericles.

dude, i dont know if you can tell but you're skills are jumping geometrically. texturing too!

Now I see that my Ulmanis is in good hands. :)

Mongkut looks promising. The problem is he still looks like Logan. Any chance you could change his animations?
I understand you are already working on a new module pack... nice! Will you work on the Yaroslav and Brian Boru issues after you finish?

Well I already explained that Yaroslav is going to remain the way he is. That is the closest I could get the cape without clipping, sorry you'll just have to deal with that.

For Brian Boru; I will add the crown and fix his teeth when I do the module pack upgrade, which should be in the coming week or so.

I could change the animations on MongKut, this isn't the final version by any means. Its just a preview. Cersobleptes, Luis Munoz Marin, Toussaint L'Overture, Sennecharib, Cochise, Mongkut, and Ulmanis will all be released at the same time. Which is going to be a while from now. I just wanted to post some previews to get other ideas. The only issue I can think of is that Col animations may not be interchangeable. If anyone knows which animations fit with which models that could be very helpful.
