So I loaded Civ into my computer and I am having issues, apparently this computer I bought sucks and civ crashes a lot on it. So now I have to get a new computer. On the plus side, once I do that, my friend says he can get my civ files back, on the down side it may take a while.

This totally sucks.

Alright, new computer is ready, I just have to sit down and install civ, I unfortunately wont have time to do that until tomorrow, then I gotta get all of my modding tools back.

At least it's not a Sims game. Civ4 I've only screwed up once, and that was because I accidentally let it autoupdate after installing Warlords I think. Reinstalling Sims 2 and 3, though? God help you if you got one of the many expansion packs out of order.
 
The_Capo, what's the status? Have you been able to install Civ4 or did you get more troubles (read your thread about requesting help for installing troubles)? Can we assist you with something?
 
I got civ installed, I have just had a lot of personal issues and haven't had a lot of time to get started on it again. It also doesn't help that I have none of my old files, so I just installed Blender and all of the stuff to make LHs a week ago, I downloaded some stuff too (like a bunch of LHs that I like and ekmek's leaderhead parts package), I haven't actually started on any leaderheads but I don't really know where to begin. Everything I had worked on is done, and I usually work on a few LHs at a time so it doesn't get monotonous, but now I have nothing so I don't really know who to start withn. :crazyeye:

I am probably going to start working on something, whether LHs or stuff for my mod, tonight. But again, I am not sure where to begin yet. Whatever I start doing will definitely include Arpad and Harun al-Rashid, but I have to start from scratch, which could be a good thing in a way.
 
The real crappy part about this whole thing is that I had some LHs by other people that I either slightly edited, or swapped around some stuff to make new LHs that I never released. Like Henry VIII, Francisco Franco, Menelik, and Theodora to name a few. I didn't release them because I didn't feel that I did enough to warrant it and I only edited the LHs to go into my mod. That's all lost right now too. :(

Just to be clear, all your work isn't totally lost, but lost right now?
You will get your files back sooner or later?
 
Let me know if you need any stuff from me, like the crown or the leaderhead we were thinking about.

If there's anything from the last playtest you happen to be missing, I've still got it.
 
Yeah, I still have the hard-drive, the computer won't turn on and apparently the hard-drive is still good. I gave it to this guy I know to extract it but he keeps giving me excuses as to why he hasn't got it off yet. So I am not really 100% certain he will be able to do it.

So any playtests of DII anyone may have will be helpful. Not sure these LHs will be there or not, but its better than nothing.
