I don't get it, what was wrong with it before? It doesn't look different to me. :confused:

The beard wasn't attached, Capo. I told you that... You could see through it when he turned his face. I also retextured his beard and made his face look better. It is not a big change, but it is a change.

Yeah, that's fine, and while you're at it could you fix the fur lining on the hat? It has that black outline, and I think its relatively easy to fix.

Actually, if you could add shaders somehow it should make the texturing on the face look better. I actually made that before I knew the difference, I THINK I used Ekmek's Paris/Hector or whatever for the skinning, so if you can work from there that'd be awesome, otherwise I could do it but since I'm working on a huge mod right now it may not be for a while.

I can't see anything notable, although I should also see the files you are using for the unit too. That may be effecting it as well.

And you were right with your initial thought; bad place to post this. This is an LH thread, you could have posted that in the General forum or at least in the Unit Requests thread, but go ahead and post the files for the unit, I'll use your XML and see what happens in my game and let you know what's wrong. I can't see anything wrong based on that screen shot though.

EDIT: If you're going to post off-topic stuff in this thread at least put the

Capo, I ran into a little problem. I wanted to help you fix Yaroslav, but after I did the changes to him and tried him in the game I got a CTD every time I loaded him. I have no idea why it refuses to work, so I guess you'll have to ask somebody else to fix him (or try yourself when you will have the time). I did learn how to work with shaders a little bit, so I'll try to make some experiments on your older LHs. I'll show you the results when I get something good!
 
Damn that's odd. I wonder why that's happening? I'm glad you can help me out with this while I'm so busy with Diplomacy II. I wish you luck. I'm almost finished with the unit flavoring process, so after that I'm going back to LHs. I think it should take a couple more weeks to finalize all of the units (which includes some GP I might have to make myself) and then its back to my old gig making LHs for a while.

weird. can you import the crashing LH into blender. if so try to reexport and nifswap

I think the problem might be with the dds files needed for adding the shaders.
 
do you have four files there or one? shaders should only go on meshes with all the shaders textures. thats how i got crashhes just trying to add them to ones without the textures.

All right- we know why I had crashes. Next issue- what should I do if the shader doesn't work properly (see your tutorial thread). I tried to put shaders on your Akbar- it has all four files, but it works really weird (looks broken, but no CTD). It would be nice also to know exactly what do these files do (ENV, DIFF, NRML, SPEC).
 
i'm pretty new to shaders myself. i tried adding them to atotztli and theodora and they would have black splotches on them. but i did import into blender and then joined to the original mesh and then deleted the old material to get the four textures and the index files added to it and it worked. i think just adding it by nifskope causesthe problem. but coyote may know differently.
 
Ekmek, since your here, Id like to reiterate Igors question of what exactly do some of the shader textures do? Most especially the NRML texture (I cna take a fairly good guess at what the env, and specs do).

I looked at them but still only have a foogy clue. Ithink the blue colored one and the black and white version are the most important. but I'm just guessing at this point. Adding shaders has been a new development for LH making and maybe Coyote understands it better.

OK, so I see you know what I'm talking about. How do I do what you just described without having to make a new LH?

Well shoot, I was hoping you knew as I havent seen Coyote around lately. I have been succesful in adding shaders to nebuchadnezzar (which was really simple since it is basically a reskin with a beard and hat). But when messing with your Constantine (which is great BTW), I get strange results possibly also stemming from skin partitions (I cant seem to figure out how many bones per partition).
