Well, patch 4.0.1 just went live.

I am really going to miss the armor penetration rating for my warrior main...

Atm, I have 5 level 80s (warrior, paladin, warlock, death knight, shaman) and a couple of lowbies. I plan to rework my warrior and paladin first.

Actually I have ended my subscription (until after Cataclysm is out) but I can still play for a bit. :ack:

A lot of reitemization for my warrior... they changed the arp gems to crit ones.

But at least they have moved the hit gem fr yellow to blue, so we can get more use out of the blue items slots. :)

And has expected, prices for glyphs and dragon's eyes have skyrocketed. Good thing I can write my own glyphs and cut my own gems on KT... :)

The patch hits Europe today so we'll have to do with info from other sites.

I'm really going to miss the spell power stat for my warlock. :( So now we're gonna have huge mana pools and huge stamina to lifetap mana from and weak spells that may crit the single time we cast it in a regular fight /rant. Ah well. I wonder if they keep sp in held-in-hand objects.

I haven't looked at my warlock yet, but I imagine all sp is totally gone. But at least we're rid of the irritating shards...

Redone my paladin - fairly straightforward for ret, and no reitemization to speak of. But the prices for glyphs on Lightbringer is so high... :(

Spell power still exists, it's just not really around as a stat on items anymore. All your sp now comes from int, weapons still have large amounts of sp on them. As an example, my 1h sword from LK normal has 992 sp on it, all up my pally has 3718 sp, which isn't much different from pre 4.0.

Glyph prices skyrocketed here too, luckily I had just under 140k gold so I just bought what I needed. ;)

Loving the new water graphics compared to before too.

Well I knew all that about sp but still count that as disappearing as I'll have little control of it from now on. Whatever sp a weapon or two can provide compared to all slots won't be noticeable. Anyway it's history now. Btw it's a low level warlock. It will be interesting to see which kind of bag I get from my shard bag. I made the biggest one I could just to get a large regular one.

Have you tried reforging? I hear it's only less important stat like haste that can be converted but you can convert it to the new mastery stat, is that true? Since new stuff usually is OP perhaps hunting haste stat gear (to reforge to mastery) is worthwhile.

Any of the secondary stats can be reforged to any other secondary stat. So str/int/agi/stam can't be reforged to anything else nor can anything be reforged to them. And yeah you can convert to the new mastery stat.

I actually reforged crit into spirit, because my main is a holy pally and I'm not sure about regen in raids yet, so I wanted to buff that a bit. My mastery isn't that great atm anyway.

There're no masteries on any gear at the moment. Need to wait till the xpack...

I've reforged 2 items, just to see how it works. Basically you can convert 40% of a secondary stat (hit, crit, haste etc), into another secondary stat not on the item. Just nice for my hit-overcapped toons (patch seems to have raised hit).

As for the shard bag, the game converted my 32-slot into a 22-slot normal bag. ;)

Anyways, I have reworked my last 3 80s for now. My enh shaman is about the same, except to replace the magma totem with the searing totem. So is my destro warlock; rotation is the same but now I can soulburn and then instant-soulfire, plus summoning a doomguard or infernal (like an elemental for shamans) for extra kick. Fun. :)

Sadly my blood dps dk must now respecced into another tree, since blood is now the tanking tree for dks. I parked it in frost (2-handed) for now...

Since we'll be switching gear soon enough, I didn't bother to... :ack:

Took my fury warrior out for a spin in one heroic - seems kind of weird to play. Can't whirlwind my way thru now. No rage issues, and I can battle shout every 30 sec to keep it up. Actually I was going at full rage bar most of the time. Going to need to get used to 2 procs now - raging blow (when you get enraged) and slam (fr boodsurge).

Haven't tried out arms yet.

Warlocks are a lot more funner now. :) Well my destro lock anyways...

In the past, because farming shards is such a hassle, I tried to avoid using those abilities which require them. No such gimping now. Plus I can use shadowfury now to AoE stun. And summon a doomguard at boss fights. And watch for my soulfire procs. More things to do...

Did you notice that the "stay" command have been replaced with "move to"? Not sure how useful it actually is but I like tactical options like that. I like to play aggro-tennis with my imp just for fun although have rarely been able to keep a mob between us but that's a bit easier now. If the mob is too far from the imp he will simply move close enough to send his bolt and return to designated position after the fight.

It seems the summon spells for individual demons in the spellbook have been replaced with the fly-out menu so once removed from the bar those spells can't be put back (although a macro could probably fix that).

Can't honestly say that my warlock(demo) feels weaker than before, rather the opposite actually.

Yeah, I will have to try out demonology later. :) I love the felguard (had levelled as demo) but can't really stand meta, so I respecced as destro...

You can still drag out the icon for the individual demon fr the fly-out menu, and put it in a key-binded space. ;) I set mine to imp, since it goes together with destro...

As for the 'stay' thing, might be something they're preparing for in Cata... :scared: At Wrath lvl, we're simply nuking our way thru heroics, so there's little in the way of minion management.

Haven't played since March. It seems to me they are really dumbing the game down. This seems to be the trend now days (as in civ5). But I could be wrong, as I haven't actually played it.

But seriously, a hunters pet at level 1? Removing the need to train for weapons? They are really making the game too easy.

But lately I've had the desire to play. The problem is my hands hurt too much playing this game. Too much button pushing. I miss it though, and may activate a subscription soon.

Well, Cata is going to bring the learning curve back up; heroics-wise. Cc and careful pulls will be back. Less AoE tanking and definitely no more nuking. Heroics trash mobs will one-shot DPSers. Mana will be a problem. Those kinds of things. ;)

I'm annoyed they took weapon skill out of the game, considering I took time to get my unarmed combat up to its max.

Oh well, the water and the new fury changes make up for it. :D My tauren warrior is fury again!
