Thought I'd start a thread on this.

Post your fave Free Browser Game. Specify if it's Browser only or if there's a download component too. And a brief description, too.

Right now, I enjoy O-GAME.
Interplanetary conquest with a slightly RTS-inspired interface. I'm still a Noob on it, so I'll have to play a few games to fully recommend it.
The only pay-component is for "officers". Basically cash for empire buffs.

:bump:

edit - oh, favorites?...

MINECRAFT

browser &/or download, very small game and definitely one of the best games by any developer.

I'll plug for Runescape, though I don't play it anymore, as some may find it entertaining.

I play Ogame. I'm in Universe Capella. :) It's a ton of fun I have to admit, and you don't have to spend hours a day on it. A few minutes here and there is really all you need.

This is another not quite a browser game, but a flash game with some decent strategic depth:

Infectonator: World Dominator

Game play is like Pandemic + Left4Dead + "8-bit Retro", but you're evolving your zombie plague in a sort of tactical RTS though you only have indirect control over the tactical battles.

The special zombies are worth playing through the end to get, especially the one in California.

pawngame was decent for a while, 'til I found soldat :p

It's essentially just a 2d side-scrolling multiplayer shooter, with other players. Many guns to choose from, decent fun :) There's also a similar game called pawngame tactics, which is a top-down version with many things changed, but similar.

Text based choice games. I posted a thread about it but noone seemed to care. I guess it might have looked too much like one of those generic advertising referral threads.

But those are truly some of the best browser games i've tried and they deserve more attention. Text can provide alot of immersion compared to standard browsergame graphics sometimes.

Those are pretty neat. I like the use of RPG stats like some of the "Fighting Fantasy" type books used to have.

I love how in that game when the MJ zombie dies he just spins around and explodes. It made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it.
