This whole episode drove me to Opera and it's great. Much better than netscape 7.0. So I am glad the ads will be going, but with opera they are not an issue.

The point I want to make is that I shouldnt have to accomadate these ads by switching MY browser just to look at this site. Also not only am I still getting the core ad on every page, I have begun to get popup ads in the fora as well.

Just a note: The Pause button on the ad doesn't work, but the "Audio" one seems to turn the sound off. Still very annoying though.

Pop-ups seem to be the rage now. I rarely go to the front page, but I get several pop-up ads a day now.
It is unfortunate that the advertising standards have changed, it is only in the last 2 or 3 weeks that the pop-ups have appeard in the fora.

Thankfully my reactions to the "Audio" button have become quick. I only hear "Electrical Superstorms...WE'VE BEEN HIT" and then its over.

Hopefully the ad is gone now. This may very well be the most annoying ad I've ever seen. It meant I had to be very careful when visiting CFC while at work 
. It also 'forced' me into changing my profile for the first time in ages. It should be obvious what it is that I changed.

I am right now forced to keep my volume control open and shut of speaker every time I browse. I am glad that somebody listened.
I would even be happy to go the way of ezboard and pay a small amount every 6 months to insure **ZERO** ads.

What did they accomplish?
I *WAS* debating seeing the movie. I will now refuse to go in protest to harrassment.
I have gotten the below annoying emails
1) Buy viagra by mail.
2) 20+ system works 2003 in one day.
3) Free porn in e-mail (very bad when checking e-mail at work)
4) Be a "bigger" man.
5) Viruses almost every day for a run.
6) Schemes for me to help launder money.
7) Get a larger chest (as a guy, no thanks)
8) Keep an open job search results in every single day of somebody wanting to mass mail by resume, for a small fee.
9) Graphics html adds which eat bandwidth when I am on dialup.
10) Improved sexual performance
11) Being sent unsolicited 600K attachments (real painful at hotel getting 33K connection).
12) Junk mail in a foreign language (I am not kidding, on of the eastern Asian languages)
I would prefer all of this for 8 hours straight, then hearing the core again.
What did they accomplish? They are now a restricted site. I know it hurts telefragged, but I won't tolerate this bs. I am really getting sick of how intrusive some of the adds are getting. Intrusive adds now result in my boycotting the product.

If you want to get rid of that kind of annoying ad, just disable javascript/active scripting. Not only will you disable every popup, but you'll remove most of the security holes in your browser as well.

Not only are the ads really annoying, but the movie also looks really bad too. Or at least, the commericals really make it look bad - I will not see it.
