I've never seen the Colbert Report and I'm not sure I could pick him out of a lineup, but I haven't seen the Daily Show in years. If Colbert is who I think he is, he was my least favorite part of the Daily Show, so I'll go with it . . .

That may be the longest post ever to not actually contribute anything to the conversation :/

Is this the Stephen Colbert you were thinking of?:

Yeah, that's him. He does that orange juice commercial that comes on OLN during the playoffs I think.

He was the one who did all the "field reporting" for the Daily Show when I watched it, and those were always my least favorite bits.

The Field Reporting is awesome! Least favourite is usually the interviews.

It seemed like they were always just stereotyping/making fun of people. I've never liked that sort of thing. Making fun of ordinary people at least; making fun of famous people is totally okay :goodjob:

I always loved how they took the side of the person that was being ridiculous and would talk to the other person as though they actually believed it.

agreed, the reports from the "field" are almost always hysterical, while most of the interviews are

Well, it can be less popular than the daily show and still be popular. Plus all we've got is a nonrandom sampling of 19 people . . .

I definitely prefer Colbert. I don't know why, exactly; perhaps it's because I never watched the Daily Show and was exposed to them at about the same time. I think Stewart's gone too far with his serious political opinions to be funny.

I love them both, but when I only have 30 min, I watch the Daily Show.

The Colbert Report has it's moments, but the Daily Show is much funnier on a much more consistent basis.

I prefer the daily show. colbert's acting as an elitist republican stops being funny and starts being annoying after about 15 minutes. fortunately i usually fall asleep during the third commercial break.

I much prefer the daily show. I think Colbert is an acquired taste. You'll probably hate the first show you see. But the daily show has variety, Colbert can often be a bit too much "I'm a republican idiot." Although The Word is the funniest segment from wither of the shows.

I would rather have Colbert rejoin the DS as a correspondent. I think it was much better that way. Cordery just isn't as good.

"The Colbert Report" had to grow on me, but it did, and I love it. I watch both most days. Hard to make a decision if I have to pick just one, but I think I'd go with the CR.

About 50-50

Sometimes Dailyshow and sometimes Colbert
Often the interview is the cluter ? David brookes interview was GOLD

well you're not missing much, as the last segment of the show is usually a so-so interview.

I can't choose! I love them both. I guess I have to choose the Daily Show, although The Word is really funny.

The Word is by far the best part of the show.

Then of course there is the 433-part series Better Know a District. :crazyeye:
