"The DaVinci Code" actor calls for a disclaimer...

Way to go Ian!

At least the Christians are just starving themselves instead of killing people over a picture like the savages.

Ian Mckellan is a homosexual. He is famous for it over here in the UK.
Why do you feel the need to point that out?

I really enjoyed the book. I like the actors in the film.....Ian McKellan more and more.

I am looking forward to seeing this movie more and more.

Let's not get into this... don't even make me bring up Princess Die. ;)

whats she got to do with anything?

seriously the only people who are getting stressed or care about the whole da vinci thing are christians who cant accept its just a fiction book (look at other thread if you have a problem with that) and are taking offence. no-one else gives a crap.

personally i just think its funny, and way to go mr ian. nothing more than a gay actor to say such a thing. good on him, and in someways i agree :)

What he said.

And if people really think the Da Vinci code should have a disclaimer, so should every other fiction book. As should the Bible, and quite a few science textbooks: "The following contains theories that have not been disproven, but may be at an undetermined point in the future . . . "

Plenty atheists complain about the book and movie, actually. Hell, I am complaining about it.

I can't believe you care enough to complain. You're the most uncaringest-about-stuff-like-this person I've ever seen.
Really? Needless inaccuracies in historical novels is one of my pet peeves.

Nah, I'm pretty sure he knows what fiction is.

He probably didn't want to hurt the feelings of those christians who still believe the bible is more than a mix of philosophical work, historical fiction and some outright fantasy.

(...a lot like DVC, when you get right down to it)

I don't think he knows the meaning of fiction. Fiction means it's false, not that it takes a leap of faith to believe it. What a ******.

Completely agree. Ian Mckellan is a moron, but who cares anyway?
