The Emergent leaders system

So an emergent leader starts with absolutely no traits at all and goes from there?

Or does he/she/it/they start with the lvl1 of the unique trait and goes from there?

They start with lvl1, then upgrade to lvl 2, and finally to lvl3.

One thing I neglected to mention:

  • All (ALL) [ALL] {ALL} Emergent leaders will possess a totally unique trait. Not a single other leader will share this trait. It may be strong, but odd for the civ (Athel), or it may be average, but play into the civ's strengths nicely.

That is way cool.
Also, will those traits be able to add free promotions (like the magic line gets) / free XP to newly built units?

PS. Seems like I gave away part of my idea by asking.

Cool, since I am struggling to find good ideas but I think I hit the nail on the head with him/her/it.

I can't wait for 1.4.

Thanks so much for the info.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, sounds awesome.

Is there going to be any system to block leaders getting traits that don't fit with their civs? For example going by the Elohim's background they seem to be pacifists overall so an Elohim leader with Aggressive wouldn't quite fit.

this is cIV and further FFH and more it is RifE... any trait can fit. One just has to find the story that goes with it.
If you play aggressively with the elohims.. why can't your important leader become aggressive ? it would only reflect your game-play!

I kind of thought that a branch of the Elohim that was a bunch of warrior monks out to find(and destroy) the evil features of the world was pretty flavorful.

Plus you can abuse the hell out of sanctuary without feeling guilty about it.

Heh. Possible, but likely won't happen. And the Elohim Emergent leader will be interesting. :D

thou shalt not have secrets from fans ;)

Are you kidding? Valk being a cryptic bastard is pretty much the reason the RIFE forum is so busy. People tediously reading every single one of his posts for a glimpse of information regarding some new feature he has planned. Sooner or later those people are bond to get bored and start posting. :mischief:

yeah i know, played this game with him several times these days :D
but one has to admit that questions here are also maintained frequently and fast by him and others. thats a big reason to post here often.

btw, that hamster-portrait should definitly wear some oracle's long white cape fluttering mysteriously on his head.

I can't wait to see how Ophelia's trait goes with the new system, she's one of my favorite leaders. Hopefully won't just be the existing one broken up into levels...

dunno... confused with multi-civ leaders (yeah i know, more of them will come :P)
i like the concept, but i guess trying Xivan T'nava two times while absolutely not understanding his trait frustrated me a bit in that direction.
can anyone tell me what exactly charlatan disciple units makes different what tactical benefit it offers?

I don't really understand them lore-wise. But I usually don't use multi-civ leaders for multiple civs, I only really use them on civs I'm already good at to get a new spin on them, like the Bannor and Amurites.
