Every time I load this scenario - in fact, for every scenario - it says that I have been defeated. Why does this happen and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Sorry if this was suggested already, didn't read through the whole thing, but I think you should add Native America. :O Or even better, a custom civ for one of the more active Native American tribes that fought against the Americans.
