The Entire Thought Experiment

I think yall are misunderstanding my comments about Eridu. I did not say this city would not be whipped, just not now. Once it's FPs are farmed it can take some whips at smaller size (I think it's actually +8 Cam) but right now it does not have the extra food nor are the FPs farmed, yet it has quite productive tiles to work to get out a decently timed worker as opposed to waiting for growth and a granary whip. It's food is not of such worth now as to whip it and whipping off a copper mine now while the city is low food is silly.

Many of these points yall are making are "future". What I'm talking about is "now" or "what should have been done". We've been nerfing the heck out of our game so far.

You make the most of the current situation

Yall know me, I love me some whip

Yes, I agree we should talk about now. And I have already agreed on building worker at size 3.

Folket,

I think it might be helpful if you take into account the comments from Page 7 and present a revised plan.

The roster is split on a number of issues (e.g. Eridu - Granary or Worker first? What to do with the Great Merchant?) so it'd be good if your plans and reasoning on those matters could be set out.

With that said - once a revised plan's put forward and discussed for 'say' 24 hours, I wouldn't mind getting on with it! :)

Sorry,
Worker, farm rice, then connect Kish, then more farms.
Worker 1, chop forest, road the gold, cottage riverside grass.

Eridu, build granary until size 3, then slow build worker. Either whip granary at size 4 or slow build it.
Uruk, finish granary then vulture, then settler, whipping settler from size 5 to 3 with 1 chop. After settler start on library.
Kish, build granary.

Send GM to native americans. look around and then a trade mission.

We have a few things to discuss.
Library or settler first in Uruk. As far as I can tell we have two votes for each. I also want to build a vulture. Should we ignore the vulture and chop library while growing to size 5?

Granary in Kish. I would like it and later take the flood plain from Eridu. With one more farm that is needed for irrigation Kish is at +7 food and +8 after civil service. I do not see that we want to do anything else then whipping here. Or do we want to cottage this city?

Shall we cottage Uruk? I would like us to do that and that is why I propose we get started. As for mines. I think 2F3C square is better when whipping then a 1F3H.

I guess we want to generate a GS. I would prefer to do that in Eridu if possible. If we decide on getting a GS in Uruk I will change the worker plan to just chop chop chop as we do not need more improvements.

I still think there is too many unwarranted granaries, but for the sake of interest I agree with the TS.

for example Kish could build vulture/monument instead...
eridu imo doesn't need granary yet too... we could grow on vulture to desired size.

I'm sorry for delaying but I'm a bit uncertain as to what is expected.

I will count that as you want me to build vultures in Eridu and Kish.

No ... Eridu needs a Granary ... badly !!!!

Don't listen to them Folket ... they know not what they say ... ;)

We're going to end up with a Great Merchant ... we need a decision.

... and while I'm venting ...

^^^CK2 is indeed an excellent game. I play it often. Haven't picked up "Old Gods" yet, but enjoyed some LPs demoing it. The new pagan features look awesome. It's about the only game I play right now other than Civ IV.

What the what???? I've watched two hours of tutorial videos and laid out $40, and still have nfi how to play it!

I hope you got all the good DLC's too for that price... the only of the functional ones I don't have is the muslims one and the pagans one...

the muslim doesn't appeal to me...but those pagans... crossing fingers for soon to be sales!

Crusader kings 2 is a great game. I would not mind giving you a 2 hour turtorial over skype if you want one.

Remember that Crusader kings is a sandbox game, you need to remember that when you play it. You can't expect the game to guide you to do something. You need to make your own plan.

As for expansion. I have all but the republic. It does not seem that interesting to me.

Sounds like you are fine with my plan then.

As for the questions I asked. I think it would be good to have a fast vote on them.

Perhaps we can vote on city specialization. It will be a lot easier for everyone to follow a consistent plan if we know what we have in mind for cities.

ok for granary or worker as you wish.
For GM, i'd try to check SB possibilities then take the most rewarding currency or TM.
btw lincoln or washington (can't remember which one is close) might be a better TM target but we don't know where he is hiding...

Does anyone know the function for trade missions. If I'm correct any city under 10 is equal?

Either way I would be good to have any idea as I do not want to check every single city to see what money I can get from them.

How much gold is currency worth for us? At what number are we better bulbing?

Lurker's Comment

No. The city with the ToA gets 200 :gold: extra. Otherwise yes :)

I remember checking Tachywaxon's noble space game once where she bulbed Paper to oracle Education. Unless you can pull this off or unless you're starving for gold or triremes you're better off with a TM IMO.

The oracle has been built and oracling education on immortal I think would be quite an achievement.

I do not know if the ToA has been built but I will make sure to check if a neighbour has built it before I do the trade mission.

 Well, those Dox games can be a little hard to get into. I encourage you to just play it. Try an Irish County or Duchy to start and create the Kingdom of Ireland. Remember CK is primarily about your bloodline, your family. You will start to get a feel for things after playing for a couple of hours, but it does take time to grasp everything.

I'm fine with a Gran Eridu AFTER the worker. We really need another worker but we want Uruk to grow for now. Eridu is the best place to build one.

ToA might not be accessible to us. Not sure where it's built. I question a Trade Mission at this point when we don't even have a library. Bulbing MC is fine with me though.

edit: I will say, from what I've read here and there, Cam, for some reason Aussies seemed to get screwed when it comes to pricing on games.

Folket, don't forget that if we want to bulb MC, we have to do it before alphabet. else, it's gonna be currency.
