The First Nation (or alternative name)

I don't know what should be their ability but this is a nation evolved from Shawnee and a federation of tribes Tecumseh finally made it reality.
UU: Dog Soldiers ; Light Cavalry (like Prussian Hussars and Russian Cossacks, but uses cowboy guns and bows).
UC: Medicine Man or War Chief.
Traditions: Ghost Dance. War Path(part of it).
UI: a kind of triangular tent, being a tile improvement.

Well I don't know if there should be any. or do you really agree with this?

I would love a Modern Age Native American civ as an alternative to America, although don't think we need to invent a speculative, stereotyped modern age Native American civ - the Haudenosaunee/Iroquois Confederacy are one option, although they're more contemporary to the Shawnee (and I've normally seen them suggested as an Exploration civ). If it were up to me, I'd go with the Navajo Nation, currently having the largest reservation and greatest number of enrolled people, and are generally very interesting imo.

Since Modern Era civs seem to be a point in time look at the civ, then something like the Comanche and Comancheria makes sense as a Civ. Lots of other options like the PNW tribes, Mapuche, Haudenosaunee, etc.

how will you design Navajo?

And i've watched Windtalkers before and see how Navajos as a member of USMC. but to me they should be light cavalry armed with cowboy guns and bows. and yes similiar to Russian Cossacks and Prussian Hussars.
Good question, I'm already working on a rough concept to design a Navajo civ. Although I haven't started considering unique units yet, the lack of an obvious associated wonder is the main hurdle. Fortunately I love designing civs that subvert the usual formula and I think an exclusive ability along the lines of being able to nominate a mountain as a wonder could be interesting.

I don't think they need one. or even if a city under a cliff (can't remember a name but it is located in New Mexico) could be.
it is a site of Desperados series game. where first it was the place where El Diablo (main villain in that game) hides. in the second game it was also the place where Angelface stationed.

We can always use one of the existing First Nations as a civ, like with the Cree in Civ 6. I hope they go for the Métis (though not technically a ‘First Nation’). They’re a relatively recent group and also played a role in Canada’s early industrialization.

I did a whole big Navajo concept a couple months back after a lot of research! This was before my Africa post and I’ve had trouble having time to put together some other underrepresented areas since then
