The German Reich - Continued

This has been a great game to follow guys!

I thought for a Domination victory you actually have to control 60% of the land or something? Razing cities isnt going to get you even close! Conquest maybe but not domination..

Domination is tough. I tried on my first game (Chieftain, see A Canadian Tale)

I owned the whole gigantic continent, except for a few spots belonging to other civs and several squares in recently conquered lands where the culture hadnt expanded. I won by culture beforre getting a chance at Domination! The other civs each had a small continent to themselves.

Welcome all, I have some GREAT news. No, we didn't kill Egypt, but I came close!

Here are the next three turns:

1993- Nanking Razed, no units lost.

1994- Massive Cavalry attack on Giza takes the city. Liberated, no units lost. Massive attack on Bremershaven, 17 cavalry dead, no Mech infantry were lost. Armies head to Pi- Ramses, as well as other cities.

Cities razed this turn- Buto, Heliopolis, El- Amarna

1995- Cavalry destroy a panzer, Armies closing in on Edo, Pi- Ramses, Tatung, and Bejjing.

Cities razed- Sparta, Pithom, Hieracompolis, Edfu, Shimmomenseki

Here is the minimap, look and faint.

That was the best 5 turns I have ever played!

I razed 11 cities! Delphi, Thermopylae,Nanking, Buto, Heliopolis, El- Amarna, Sparta, Pithom, Hieracompolis, Edfu, Shimmomeneseki!

Units lost im my turns- 4 panzers, 3 mech inf, 3 artillery.

WOW! I guess I have a little luck in me! And some fine leadership.

Joespaniel, prepare to see an absence of yellow! I have you set up quite well, 4 seperate battalions are headed for 4 cities, and they are going to get them for sure!

The end is near. LOTS of yellow disappeared. Fine work Ohwell.:goodjob:

Thank you! You might not have noticed, but Shimomenseki was up north, where some mech infantry destroyed it with no losses, and those mech inf. are being redirected to the Bejjing assault force nearby. I made a large use of the mech inf. as city attackers, they are useful attacking infantry defended cities.

- Another thing- Barbarians are attacking our cities! They have several encampments in the south, and are making warriors and horsemen! They even got one artillery I forgot to move! Kind of funny that they haven't even learned about guns.

- That Japanese Galleon and Ironclad I was following seems to be taking a ride around egypt, it is nearing its homeland again!

Up next is joespaniel and then, Pychosis. ;)

Mike, let us know if you're gonna play, pls.

Let's bury Egypt once and for all time.

Congratulations Herr General der Artillerie Ohwell! Your brilliant use of Artillery and flawless manuevers have not gone un-noticed...

You are here by promoted to the rank of Generaloberst!

Perhaps, next great victory will get you promoted to GeneralFeldmarschall...

Und, ve vill not forget other great generals!

General der Panzertruppen Joespaniel... :goodjob:

General der Panzertruppen Joespaniel... :goodjob:

We shouldn't forget Feldmarshall joespaniel, he is the one that drove our forces into the Egyptian Heartland, and has had many more victories than I. And donsig, he set me up quite well!

Egypt better get their air-raid sirens working...

I wouldn't think we would get fission on your turn, it was still 18 turns away when on my turn... I might say i.Psychosis or donsig would get it on their turn, but not to worry. By your turn you will might have gotten space flight, and tactical nukes. :nuke: :egypt:
Good luck, Egypt.

Conquest Victory!

Germany rules the world!

There is so much I could say to summarize my final 10 turns, but you can download it for yourself and take a look.

One thing I do want to mention:

The last enemy unit to die was a longbowman.

That was for you, Ohwell!!!

My hat is off to EVERYONE who participated in this long, long game.

Special thanks to Knight-Dragon, donsig and Ohwell who were the only three to play start to finish, always faithfull. Great job!

The final turn:

Whaaa? How can this be? In 10 turns? Waaaa? I assume you thought on your first turn to send some units to Japan. I didn't think we would get a conquest victory... either domination or Histograph!

:goodjob: Great Job Joe! Party in Kyoto! (Did you raze it)

:hammer: [dance] [dance] :hammer: :shotgun:

To Cleo- You were a formidable opponent, but you didn't take the trophy... Goodbye!

Finally...... :D [dance] Great job guys! It has been a very good and challenging game esp the part in invading and demolishing Egypt. :D

Alright, I will be posting our new Chinese succession game soon, unless someone wants to become the manager?

What settings do you guys want?

Initial suggestion : -

Difficulty - regent (normal)
Map size - large (12 civs)
All victory conditions enabled
Civ unique abilties enabled
The rest set as random

That was some game. Can't wait to get home and download the last file so I can have a look!

Great work joespaniel you deserve a promotion to Ober Field Marshall!:goodjob:

Knight-Dragon gets a special citiation for reminding us to cut off Cleo's oil way back when that was crucial.:goodjob:

Count me in on the Chinese game. Settings are fine by me. I'm still trying to manage Rise of Rome revisited so I don't want to volunteer to manage the new game.

Yep. Its all over.:D

Germany rules the world!

Download the game, end the turn and the victory screen will pop up.:D

I have a screenshot, but no converter program. Maybe donsig will post one?

Well, what can I say..... this has been an enjoyable read and a most excellent game, dudes.

Congratulations, well played, enjoy the win and thanks for your indepth thoughts on game play while providing great commentry and some screen shots.

I look forward to following your next adventure.

There's not much to see at the end... Egypt is a vast wasteland!

Here's a shot of what was once known as 'Japan'.

This is great guys! Well done!

I must say the Japan invasion fleet looks very impressive! No wonder they were squished so quickly! - 2 Carriers, 8 Battleships, 11 destroyers!

The war with Egypt was the most violent I've ever seen in a Civ game!! A whole continent razed to the ground  !

It's also a funny coincidence that the final turn was 2002 AD!

Yeah, it was a violent war - and joe didn't even have any nukes! I shudder to think what he'll do with the Roman technology we have in that game.[plasma]

I hadn't noticed the game ended in 2002. :crazyeyes

Back in the beginning of January, when the war against Egypt was broiling over, I downloaded the 3050 BC save from the other, first thread.

In my spare time, I played our German game by myself from where I left off; the end of my very first turn. Ofcourse, this gave me some advantages, I knew where everyones start point was by now. But I did it for fun.

I have two saves from my "alternate" Germany, if anyone wants to download and take a look.

There are some funny coincidences, as you will notice.
