The German Reich - Continued

A word of warning though - youur culture value is almost 70,000 but according to foreign advisor Egypt is unimpressed with your culture. Unimpressed means that their culture is 4:3 compared to yours, meaning they have at least 90,000 culture points!!!

So finish them off very quickly otherwise they might win culturally by getting 100,000 culture points!!!

They wont be getting much more culture from the rubble piles we made of their cities. ;)

I did consider that a few weeks ago, but did'nt say anything. Now it doesnt matter, they will never get to 100,000 before we build a German parking lot on their continent.

Ha! Our veteran panzer is now elite!

I guestimate about 50 turns til the end now. We will beat the clock, and I doubt Japan will be building a spaceship any time soon.

Now we just need some players to show up...

Up next is donsig, then Ohwell.

The Egyptian capital is now at Pi-Ramesses (I think). Our Army Group Central is heading there now but Byblos lies in-between. Suggests we raze it before continuing on to Pi-Ramesses. ;)

The Egyptians are withering. Let's keep up the pressure. :D

It's 1 am here now. I will play 'in the morning'around 8 am. (Technically it is already morning, I guess.) Need a few hours sleep before I get into this one. Hope you all don't mind!

Well! Its 10:44am! Lets go!

Its so much fun, isnt it? I love bombarding those size 20+ cities and watching the destruction.

Bombardment successfull! The cathedral of ______ is destroyed!

Citizens of ______ were killed!

Mwah-hah-hah!! :satan:

I spent a good three hours pounding Egypt but I want to play more! Just a couple more turns, please!

Here's a shot of the situation around Salzburg. When I get to work I'll post a summary of the progress made in the last two years.

Greetings. To make a long story short, my HD sux. I lost my registry and a bunch of other "semi"-important files. Just got a new one, back on-line, and lovin' this war.

I think you can only win with 100,000 culture points if you have the 100,000 points and are at least double that of any other civ.
Check me on that tho.

:goodjob:

Your'e back! And just in time!

Bu, but you left... you left a man behind! How could you leave Mike C hanging in the evil chambers! Noooo!
Why! :D Glad to see you back.

To Knight- Dragon- PLEEEASE let him play AFTER me, I am getting anxious, I want to kill some Pharaoh @$$ with the oh so beautiful panzers I never got to use:D .

I think we only have 50 or so turns left, so, maybe an 8 or 10 turn limit would be in order, considering how long the turns are anyway. But that only tells us how large our military is :)

Yes, these turns are long: I played two in three hours. I want to play a couple more since it may not get back to me. Here's an update os far:

1986: Six cavalry attack Salzburg as riflemen approach from the east and tanks (mech. inf.?) and longbowmen come from the west. Our garrison easily holds and the invaders are destroyed except for one rifleman and one cavalry.

One of our destroyers barely survives an attack by an Egyptian ironclad off Chinan.

We have over 2500 gold!:) We give a little to the GIA and in return we find that Egypt has 1 aluminum, 3 coal, 4 saltpeter, 4 iron and 4 horses supply depots. Egyptian citizens still have access to 5 different luxuries. The GIA also reports that (after shelling) Athens (size 14) is defended by a 2hp riflemen unit and two 1hp infantry divisions. We have 5 panzer divisions nearby and the order to attack is given. The two infantry divisions give way swiftly but the riflemen destroy one of our panzer divisions and nearly take out a second before they succumb. Athens is razed along with Leo's place. Lisht is also razed.

The army in Bremershaven is given orders to advance on Kahun while assorted panzer divisions are dispatched to Neapolis.

1987: Egyptian mechanized imfantry cut roads near Salzburg. Thinking our panzers are indestructible we attack! After losing a panzer division the attack is called off.

Egyptians emmisaries try to initiate peace talks and are rebuffed. Only 3 cavalry attack Salzburg.

Hey, we can build regular stuff!?! When did we go off our war footing? I missed that...

'We Love Cleo Day' celebrated in Byblos. Our artillery adds to the fireworks...;)

German mechanized infantry destroy Kaifeng. Neapolis razed by panzer divisions. Kahun razed.

Panzers detached from the army group near Byblos as another army group advances on Athribus.

1988: Begins with a six division cavalry attack on Salzburg. Egyptian mechanized infantry active near both Salzburg and Bremershaven.

That's where I left off this afternoon. Will play a couple more turns in the morning and turn it over to the next player. Perhaps it'll all be over this weekend!

We can continue playing even after the score is set, if only to grind Egypt into dust. :D

Guys, pls leave some of the fighting for the next. Personally I think each of us shld play only 5 turns at the very max so that : -

1)The turns will move faster
2)Everybody will have their share of the fun

donsig, Phycosis, Mike, are you guys good for a Chinese SG after this one ends? Ohwell, joe and I are going for it. :)

Take your time, donsig. Give them Hell.

PS I see that Athens is gone. That's good. :goodjob: :D

We have over 2500 gold!

Hey, we can build regular stuff!?! When did we go off our war footing? I missed that...
We got joe to thank for that. :D Screwed the Egyptians out of 1500 gold and the tech for mech inf for a peace treaty (and stopped war mobilization) and then went back to backstab them. :lol You know, donsig, maybe we shld repeat that...... :crazyeyes

1986: Six cavalry attack Salzburg as riflemen approach from the east and tanks (mech. inf.?)....
Used to be 7 each yr during my turn. The razing of Athens must had reduced their prod of 1 cavalry per turn by one. [dance] They shldn't be having tanks; must be mechs. Got some leftover fr before we cut off their oil and rubber.

One of our destroyers barely survives an attack by an Egyptian ironclad off Chinan.
That's the ironclad that sneaked out of el-Armana at the beginning of my turn. I sent the destroyer out to search for it. ;)

I love the razings of Egyptian cities.

Yes, I admit I stuck it to Cleo hard, but she deserved it. :D

We wont be able to repeat that sneaky maneouver though, if the AI has any brains at all.

Great follow up donsig, you have kept up the momentum. Attack, attack, attack and attack some more! Dont stop for anything, but keep the combined arms formations together. They could still destroy our panzers if unprotected.

Thank Heaven we have the mech inf now. They were really eating up our infantry during my turn, I was starting to worry things might fall apart. Not anymore...:D

Have fun and continue your turn, by all means. If I dont get to play again, I have no regrets. I'm enjoying reading your successes, keep it coming.

The end is near for the Egyptians, Germany will rule the world!

Then the AI really doesn't have any brains at all. :D Didn't donsig just said the Egyptians sent emissaries to try to make peace?

But seriously, there isn't much we can con out of them anymore, except for cities maybe.

1988 ended with our infantry (not mechanized infantry) taking Byblos by storm and razing it to the ground. They captured an artillery battery and some more slaves.

1989 began with the customary cavalry attack on Salzburg. They managed to recapture some of their workers that we had been using to repair roads and railroads in the area. We do not see this as a big loss. The ex-slaves don't have far to run and if they do get out of our reach there a re plenty more where those came from...

Our panzers have entered Giza and there-in lies Adam Smith's Trading Company. We have decided to keep this city as it is worth 90 gold/year to us. What good is war without some profit to show for it?

Busiris razed. (No profit potential there.)

We sent a full strength elite panzer division against the remains of an Egyptian Mech. Inf. near Salzberg. The elite panzer is no more. We then sent in a veteran panzer division and it took our revenge by killing two mech. inf. units. We then sent our mech. inf. to mop up the remaining Egyptian rifle and bow units trapped in the plains south of Salzburg.

Arthribis razed.

1990: The cavalry attack commences on Giza. It takes 3 divisions to overwhelm our lone infantry unit. Their next target is some of their ex-workers. They also manage to destroy a lone panzer unit south of El-Amarna. Finally, three divisions Kamakazi Cavalry hurl themselves on the walls of Bremershaven. The ensuing slaughter causes rioting in the city which is quickly dealt with.

Our forces easily retake Giza and cordon off the city and other forces continue to move into position to pound other Egyptian cities.

It took two days to do my five turns!

I loosened up on the stacking rules we had and started splitting our forces so as to target more cities. I did lose a few panzers but only one to an attack by the Egyptians - the others I lost in attacking them. Cleo's generals are rarely attacking any of our forces in the open. They're targeting cities and then workers. Perhaps we could use some of our new slaves as bait...

I kept Giza for the money. I also switched our cities from wealth to aqueducts, etc. It may be a futile attampt to raise our science rate but I think we have adequate forces to pound Egypt already. The war will be over before the new improvements are done. We have +66 gold/turn and over 2500 in the treasury. Upping the science rate doesn't seem to change things much.

We have only 3 luxuries and many sitting unused in what was once Egypt. Time for colonies? Or does communism negate the effect of luxuries? We still have a GL in Berlin and Seti is available for building. Fission is 22 turns away...

Finally, what's up with Japan? Are we going to have to kill them, too? If so perhaps we should try to found a city somewhere in those islands while we are still friends...

PS: Yes, I am up for a Chinese game with you guys!

Good job getting Adam Smith's, donsig.

Its fun waging modern war, isnt it? Damn time consuming though.

My suggestion is to forget SETI, and science in general. Keep the luxury rate up so we dont have to mess around with disorder.

I wouldnt worry about Japan too much. We can sweep them aside any time we want. Any idea where that Japanese galleon was going? It seemed to be heading for the territory we "liberated". If Japan tries to get a foothold on the continent, smash them. Keep them bottled up on their island, where we can dispatch them later.

I believe at this point we should get a histograph victory if time runs out. Lets keep at it, raze every Egyptian city we can.

Happy panzering, Ohwell!

Whoooohooo! Getting ready to play my five, (Grabbing my good luck charms)

So, I should just kill evrything? Or is there a second objective? Ah. hell, I'll give myself ideas when playing, thats the fun!

(Brace yourselves, I may lose a panzer or ten, a turn:( )

NOT! It may take a while.

Nice work donsig. The sea of yellow in the world map is steadily shrinking. I would love to participate in a Chinese succ. game after this one. I haven't played them yet.

1991- Cavalry kill 2 panzers, avenged by our mechanized infantry. Berlin building SETI, to save up for Manhattan. AS SOON AS YOU GET FISSION, SWITCH! It builds a turn after we get fission. Delphi razed.

1992- Three Panzers lost, Thermopylae razed. Other cities falling quickly.

Right before Thermopylae is razed:

OMFG Sorry about the bad pic quality, I guess I need a better program.

But We are going to win!:D Our histograph score is 700 points higher than Egypt, and If we don't kill them by 2050, we still win! :D But I would rather just kill them.

There is lots of artillery coming over, and are bombarding the hell out of Egypt. The Japanese have another convoy south of egypt, our battleship is following it. They made peace with egypt, then declared war again! It seems they have more rubber, I will look for it when I play again. Because their cities are defended with infantry, our panzers can attack with almost no regrets, but I still use the artillery just in case. Our mech infantry is VERY useful for picking off infantry, cavalry, and riflemen in the field, that is what I am using it for, as well as protecting panzers. I noticed some infantry armies still had three units, so I put a mech inf. In them. But the panzer armies were full, and I didn't want to slow them down either.

I can finish my turns by tomarrow, Maybe 9 PM GMT. Those turns take a long time! But I had fun. I razed two cities, two more seem to be coming soon, and It is all good!

Thats what I thought, we have already got it in the bag. But I agree, lets completely destroy them before 2050 AD. :hammer:

Maybe we can get a domination victory, but I think we would have to have more cities, and I would rather build nuclear missles than settlers. :D

Screw it, lets just kill 'em! Go Ohwell!
